Up for bid is my 1994 Honda Del sol, D16.Z6, 1.6l vetch engine, (Si). I purchased in July of '02 and drove it to and from work about 90 miles round trip. Gave it to my son in '04 and he used it through high school. Only two things happened to the car while son drove it. He hit a raccoon and friends mom backed into it in her driveway. Both times front bumper plastic was replaced. I traded it in to the dealer on a new car in Nov of '07 receiving a lowball offer. The dealer list it for 14x what I got, I called them on it and was allowed to repurchase the car for trade in price. Rebuilt the engine at approx. 250,00 miles. So it has about 13,000 miles on the rebuilt engine. Since then I have kept on top of it intending to give it back to my son when fully restored. But I am tired of keeping my Element out of the garage plugged into a block heater all winter. I want to get down to two vehicles both in garage in the winter. If I were the buyer I would get the roof seals replaced (I have seen a dribble on inside driver's window when going through automatic car wash). I would also replace trim seal on bottom edge of rear window. As seen in pictures some degradation on top of surround in rear of interior, also top of door panels have some noticeable wear on edges by windows. The seat covers are on because the driver's seat has wear on the lumbar as in seat cover and passenger seat has stain on bottom. New covers can be ordered on ebay from a seller for $179 where I got these. The car runs great since the engine rebuild, engine purrs like a contented cat. I bought this from a guy that commuted on I25 from Cheyenne, Wy to Loveland, CO. The carfax I remember getting when I bought this showed it originally to be a Florida car. I have no paperwork/receipts from before I traded it in but everything since I repurchased it. I have kept it stock except for the red rear lower control arms and heavy duty spark plug wires. It comes with two sets of keys (regular and valet). Terms of sale are $500 deposit via Paypal, balance of Cash on pickup or pay by check prior to pickup and check clearing before picking up vehicle. No warranty is offered or implied. I have not treated the car as an around town errand car but trust this to take to and from work at fast highway speeds and it has proven itself. Engine is tight and runs hotter since rebuild as expected. With the dual air bags it would be a safe car to let a child take to and from school as their first car and though old, it is a head turner. But then a tuner could buy this and put it under the fast and furious mods, just don't put the metal erector set spoiler on the trunk I see so many misguided owner's do. The reserve is less than what I put into the car getting the paint and rebuild done. If you are looking to buy a beater to get around in, this isn't it. Replaced all exterior belts (A/C, Pwr steering, and alt), replaced timing belt, inspect water pump-fine. Inspect cam seal and oil pump seals, no evidence of leakage. Replaced door handle rt side inside. Replaced exh manf bolts and nuts, repainted exh manf heat shield hi temp black paint. Replaced missing bolt and washer and locknut on exh manf. Replaced the ATF. Test engine-no leaks. 11/04/2011 244,282 Noticed coolant leak on oil pump side/left side (out plastic leak drip port near oil pump) of engine, investigated and found loose bolt, but since all belts and timing belt taken off decided to replace with new water pump and seal. Reassembled, filled with new antifreeze and tested no leaks. 11/6/2011 244,301 Changed spark plugs and valve cover gasket, spark plug gaskets. 1/19/2012 244,948 Replaced distributor O-ring due to suspected leak. Installed Honda part # 30110-PA1-732.
