The car is stored in a heated garage through the winter, and will be stored again this year as soon as snow hits the ground. The rear tires have about 65% of the tread on them, and the front ones could be replaced with about 25% left. The tires are low profile, which did not come stock on the car so it does ride slightly rougher than regular sized tires. The car is a 5 speed automatic with rear wheel drive. The car currently has 172,000 miles on it (BMW e39s are known for reaching over 300,000 miles). It is my daily driver until the winter so the mileage will go up. The car is also fully loaded with a sunroof, heated front seats (with adjustable temp), heated steering wheel, dual climate controls, memory seats, a telescopic steering wheel, aftermarket DVD player, etc. I love the car but have purchased a truck to get me through the winter and cannot afford to keep both or I would. The car has always had synthetic oil changes, and been filled with 93 octane premium gasoline. No rips in leather. CLEAR TITLE IN HANDProblems:-The thermometer reads in the red zone, however the coolant temp sensor has been replaced. The mechanic says the computer needs to be reset for it to read properly.-The ABS Speed sensor has been replaced, however the ABS light, and traction control light are still on. The mechanic said the code for this might need to be reset in order for the lights to turn off. Because the ABS Speed sensor is getting a code stating it is needing attention, the car needs to be manually shifted from 2nd to 3rd gear, and 3rd to 4th gear. It sounds confusing, however it is very easy and effortless to do. -The Check Engine light is on because the "Primary and Secondary Air Banks" need to be replaced, along with camshaft sensor.-AC does not work. I am not sure if it needs to be recharged, or something else is needed, however in Michigan, we only get about 7 days where you actually need the air so I never had it looked at.-High Beams do not work, however you do not need them with the HID headlights.-No heat comes into the cabin when idling.-Camshaft/Crankshaft sensor needs to be replaced as you can hear a slight ticking when the engine is running.-Starter needs to be replaced, but after about 2-3 tries it will start right up. The mechanic said this is from sitting through the winters, it collects moisture in the starter.
