Vehicle Detail
This is a 1979 Chevy C10 shortbed, stepside. It was a one-owner truck until about 2 months ago. A guy who deals in classic trucks bought it from the original owner and then contacted me about it and I bought it from him. I buy these types of trucks whenever I can find a good, original one. It has a V8, 350 engine and 400 turbo transmission. Both of these replaced the original engine and transmission approx 12,000 miles ago, according to the info I received from the person I bought it from. You can see from the valve cover that it had a Crate 350 motor put in it. The truck runs and drives very good, has cold air, p/s & p/b and all works well. I put a new sending unit in the gas tank because the gas gauge wasn't working. It works fine, now. I also made sure the gas tank was cleaned with new gas lines attached. The heater core was leaking when I got it, so I replaced it with a new one and new heater hoses. This is very nice, with original body & paint with some patina on hood, roof and tops of fenders and other various areas. It appears not to have had any body damage. It has the normal scratches and dings of a vehicle of this age, but no big dents. The wood in the bed is original wood and in very good condition for the age, with no soft spots. The tires have good tread on them but looks to be old and weathered. The interior is all original. The seat is very nice with no rips or splits. The dash pad is original and is very nice. It's one of the best ones I've seen with no cracks. The miles are actual and 88,897. This truck had Ziebart undercoating put on it from the dealership before the original owner took it home, which has protected it from rust. I could not find any rust on the truck. It still has the Ziebart sticker on the back window on the passenger side. It was purchased by the original owner from Norman Frede in Houston, TX and still has that sticker above the rear bumper. This truck has always been a TX truck until I purchased it and had it shipped to KS. It does come with the original owner's manual, jack and jack handle. You'd be hard pressed to find an original truck this age in this good of condition. There is no Buy It Now. If you're interested, please bid. You are welcome to call with questions or to set up an appt to see it in person, if you'd like. Please call (NO TEXTS) Larry at 316-393-5275 from 10am - 8pm CST (Central Standard Time).
