Vehicle Detail
It is a hard decision, but it is time for my uncle's truck to find a new home - it deserves to be driven and enjoyed more than I have been able to these recent years. My uncle ordered this Chevy truck brand new, but World War II restrictions made the dealership hold it in their shop until the war was over. My uncle owned a dairy farm in Ashland, WI and purchased this BL model 3609 3/4ton Chevy pick up to haul his milk cans to market. As a child, I spent time on my uncle's farm and ran the route to the local cheese factory with him and his truck. When bulk tanks became the method for his dairy farm, my uncle retired the truck - working on it occasionally. When he had to move off the farm, I bought it and have owned it since. I had the truck stripped and painted to use for the occasional country drive. After all these years, I find I just do not have the time to spend enjoying it anymore. It still has it's original, low mileage 216.5 6 cylinder 'stove bolt' engine and manual transmission and unusual options including a factory single fog lamp and brush/bumper guard. This is a classic Chevy truck body style, a rare year that shares it's body with the 1941 and 1946 years. I believe the 92,185 miles to be original and I have full, clear title based on the chassis number - not the engine number. No title issues if you decide to change the engine down the road. If you search the Internet for GM Heritage center archive vehicle information Chevrolet trucks 1942, you can see all the proper specs including line drawings of the factory stake bed (which it still retains) and neat looking original styled wheels and hubcaps (also still on the truck). The truck was built in Janesville, Wisconsin. Check out the photos and please call me with any questions. The photos include a photo with the original farm lettering on the door and a couple photos during restoration. My friend is listing this for me, so please call if you have any questions. Thank you! 906-2five0-2625 - I will return all calls. My buy it now price is very reasonable considering how much I spent on the truck. I have always kept it inside and if you like the photos, I do not think you would be disappointed in it. I will consider a reasonable offer. Please be sure you want the truck if you bid or make an offer. Your bid or offer, if I accept, is a binding contract to follow through with payment. A deposit into my paypal account of $1500 is required within 2 days of winning this auction. Arrangements for the balance must be taken care of within 10 days after that. I can hold the truck for a few more weeks, but buyer needs to arrange all shipping/delivery issues. I live on the WI/MI border near Iron Mountain, MI in the UP. I would be glad to get the truck to Iron Mountain if you plan on having the truck picked up. US. Highway 2 goes right through Iron Mountain and Green Bay is only a couple hours away. Also, I have friends going to the Iola Car Show and Swap Meet in July and I may be able to arrange someone to bring it to Iola for a small fee (whatever they would want to haul it there). Full cleared payment will need to be completed before vehicle and title are released. I was limited to 24 photos, so if you need to see anything else, please email and I will take additional photos. Thank you for your consideration.
