Up for sale is a 1971 GMC Vandura with only 27k original miles. It was built new for the fire department with the largest engine available, heavy duty brakes and suspension. I purchased this vehicle in 2003 from the fire department with only 16k miles on it. I used this vehicle to haul around band equipment until I left the business. It is equipped with a 220 hp 350ci backed with a TH-350 transmission. It also has heavy duty suspension and 10 ply tires. This spring, I replaced the battery, fuel pump, ignition switch, and spark plugs. The transmission was rebuilt 3,000 miles ago. It needs a brake line in the rear to be put back in service. The body has rust on the lower portion, but it has a solid floor and frame. I was reluctant to part with it, but I have too many projects and do not want to let it sit. This is a no reserve auction.
