Up for auction is a completely rebuilt, numbers matching all the way to the front pulley and water pump, Is a 1973 Ford Torino/ Mercury Cougar 429 Cobra Jet Engine. This motor was retrieved from a 1973 Ford Torino Sport GT that was hit in the rear and totaled, I have held onto this engine for over 20 years and decided it was time to let it go to a person out there who may be in need to finish their project or would like to replace there wimpy 351 Cleveland. This motor will bolt into any 1970 to 1973 Ford Torino or any 1971 to 1973 Ford Mustang or Mercury Cougar. I will list all the part numbers of the engine upon request, I will tell you everything that has been done as far as the rebuild. Block- bored 030 over with J&E pistons, Total Seal full moly rings, rods have been shot peened balanced down to the gram, crank has been micro polished and cross drilled at standard, block has been decked, line bored, new cam bearing, sonic checked and magnafluxed, it is flawless, cam shaft is a Crower 22176- Duration at 050 lift 242/248 gross lift is 595/598 at 108 center RPM range is 2500 to5800, Crower lifters #6601513-1. Heads have been surfaced, new valve guides, SVO springs, SVO valves, hardened seats, three angle cut, also magnafluxed for cracks and are perfect. Intake is factory, Exhaust Manifolds are original with no cracks, no pits and even has the original heat shield in flawless condition. These are some of the part numbers That should be of some help- Block-DIVE-A2B- Heads- D3VE-A2A-3A23-201, DOVE-A2A, Crank-4UAB/2907- Rods-6210-3/C9AE- Intake Manifold-D3VE-3A1- Harmonic Balance-D2VE-AA, Water Pump Housing- D2VE-6059-AA, Water Pump- D5VE AA, Valve Cover 2-15, Timing Tag- D2VE6023AA, Top Pulley-2SE-8509-AA. These numbers will be helpful if you put it in a vehicle that you want to show the judges always look for these details, also be advised all of the original Ford fasteners have been checked and polished and is another detail judges look for. I will also include another set of head gaskets intake gaskets and water pump gaskets if you wish to check my work however this would be the 156th engine I have built for performance and longevity and you will not be disappointed. On Jun-08-15 at 13:57:43 PDT, seller added the following information: I do want to add a foot note to this add, I am a mopar guy, when I built the engine, I followed all of the specs of a 1971 429 CJ, every one is aware that officially the last true 429 cobra jet was in 1971, had oversized webbing and such.
