And also be warned that it is very very easy to drop $5K to $10K and more in parts and labor within a few years of owning an older well used high mileage 928 of any year model. Buy the best car you can find or plan on giving a lot of money to your parts man and mechanic and no car to use and drive/enjoy during the fix up/restoration process and still not have an ORIGINAL CONDITION low mileage 928. Ok, enough of my car buying logic gained over that last 36 yrs of 928 ownership and owing a Porsche shop. This 1985 928S 5 speed manual trans car is a truly mint condition car both cosmetically and mechanically. It is a two owner car ( first owner for 25 yrs and second owner 5 years). Includes all books, maintenance records from day one! Car is completely original with absolutely no modifications, all original stickers/decals on doors/engine bay/gas filler door. Ordered from Porsche with spoiler delete, limited slip and wider rear wheels, special order Prussian Blue paint. There are no dings or scratches anywhere on the car. The paint is bright with deep clear coat and original factory orange peel on all panels with exception of the front bumper that was repainted by the original owner for stone chips. Immaculate unmolested engine/engine compartment with all original stickers. The full black leather interior is immaculate. The leather is supple with no cracking or leather hardening on the seats, bolsters, door panels, no water damage. Even the seat bolster on the drivers seat has only very slight seat belt wear only. The carpet is excellent. The backing on the underside of the floor matting is failing slightly from age. The dash leather has slight shrinkage of about a 1/4 inch around the passenger dash vent, it lays flat and noticeable only on close inspection. There is minor separation of interior material on the right rear quarter panel. All books and maintenance records since day one! Cambelt replaced at 28,112 miles and retensioned in 2012. 2010 repairs…Replaced original Boge strut/shocks with same OEM 1986 Boge updated gas shock/struts. Replaced fuel pump, fuel filter and Y connector for recirculating fuel vapor. 2011 repairs…Amsoil full synthetic 15w40 oil and filter changed every 3,000 miles. Replaced clutch slave cylinder, clutch arm nylon socket, replaced transmission fluid with amsoil synthetic ATF 2012 repairs…Replaced engine motor mounts. Replaced steering bushings. Cambelt tensioned 2013 repairs…New Bridgestone S-02 tires in april 2013, now with around a 1000 miles on them. This car is an all original condition Investment Grade Car that FEW can compare.
