The Fiat 500 or Cinquecento, was an inexpensive and practical "city car" that was produced by Fiat between 1957 and 1975. And despite its diminutive size, the 500 proved to be an enormously practical and popular vehicle throughout Europe.
This particular model is a 1970 500L, or Lusso, that has a more modernized interior over the previous model and is powered by a 499CC two cylinder air cooled engine. It has a vinyl top that folds back for open air fun.
Our car is a true driver. Mechanically sound, it fires up everytime and drives wonderfully every time. Paint is good, but not perfect. There are a few dents and dings, and some minor surface rust (nothing cancerous or severe) in a few places. Interior is the same. Very good condition, but not perfect. Seats and door panels are in excellent condition. Carpets and dash could use some minor reconditioning to get it back up to snuff.
Overall, this is a fine drive, and it turns heads everywhere we go. If you want an inexpensive conversation piece, and a moment of Italian history, this would make a great addition to your stable.
Although common in Italy, these cars are actually fairly rarely for sale in North America.
This example has just recently been imported from Sicily, but has a proper clear and clean Texas title.
