*************2001 CR 500R from Southern California************** THIS BIKE WAS BOUGHT AND BUILT UP FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF MAKING A RELIABLE AND COMPETITIVE MOTOCROSS WEAPON ON TODAY'S MODERN TRACKS. I purchased this motorcycle approximately 2 years ago as a solid low-hour bike. I looked high and low for one that had not been beat up or drug through the desert and hammered on. The idea was to find a solid, tight- latest year I could find (2001 is the last year of the CR 500), and then start to upgrade and improve the bike so I could be competitive at my local motocross track when it was all completed. Below is a list of some things I did to the bike in order to make it a true MODERN RACE MACHINE: -New rims, with "tubliss" system installed-Allows you to run super low psi and saves weight. -New chain/sprockets, chain guids (All top of line stuff w/additional sprocket for diff tracks). -New oversize Galfer Rotor w/steel braided line, HH pads front/rear.-Brakes are STRONG. -Updated front brake reservoir off 2014 CRF450.-Smooth feel, 1-finger pull. -Modern forks off 2013 CRF250, re-valved/re-sprung for 200lb Int MX.-Work AMAZING! -Scotts Steering Damper-Allows the bike to remain quick turning but stable. -Pro Taper Bars w/anit-vibration bar ends to minimize vibration transfer -Aluminum throttle tube, High Performance Throttle system/cable/cam-Much smoother. -EVO footpegs-sticks you on the bike like glue! -Updated seat shape/foam/ribbed cover w/custom "hump" to keep you on better (retro graphic)-The bike feels fantastic when you sit on it, it keeps you in place, and the transitions are smoother with this setup. -Custom de-compression button installed on cylinder head-Works AMAZING, looks factory.-I can start this bike with flip-flops on! -Updated modern carb/jetting-Much smoother running, idles perfect. -NEW Boysen RAD Valve -Shock rebuilt completely, revalved, resprung w/titanium shock spring-Works AMAZING. -Magnetic drain plug to minimize any contamination -FMF Gnarly Pipe (You also get a perfect Pro Circuit FACTORY pipe + Pro Circuit spark arrestor). -Pro Circuit FACTORY Silencer NEW OEM: The below parts have approximately 5 hrs total run time on them (Hour Meter) including all the short heat cycles needed to break in motor. Break-in was 4 heat cycles and two oil changes just bringing the motor up to running temps prior to any riding. -Top End: Cylinder is still on original bore, all new top end piston/rings/pin/bearing/gaskets-Approximately $200.00 in parts. -Bottom End: OEM Bearings/seals, etc. Have receipts for the parts.-Over $400.00 in parts -OEM Clutch plates/springs-No ridges on either the basket or inner hub-works perfect. -MORE OEM: Clutch cable, throttle cable, petcock, sprocket cover. The bike runs better than any other 500 you will come across. Why? Because 1) It is mechanically sound, with thoughtful additions of a few key performance parts and 2) It has the benefit of modern technology in suspension, braking, handling and traction. You have never ridden a 500 like this; It hooks up, stops, turns, and best of all eats up both choppy terrain and big hits on the track. And with the Scotts Stabilizer and anti-vibration bar ends you can keep very little pressure on the grips and not worry that the bars are going to come out of your hands! I can tell you with confidence that there are no other CR500's built like mine. They usually end up in the desert all beat up with a paddle tire on them, or in the rain all rusted out. The nice examples are typically early model years ('80-'83) and simply do not hold a candle to the performance that this bike brings the rider! I spared no expense making this bike a true track weapon, and in the process ended up with a bullet-proof reliable bike that is a true joy to ride on track or off. -Starts 2nd kick when cold and 1st kick every time when warm! -**Tires have 2 rides on them** Pink Slip in hand, current green sticker through 6/16
