This is a remarkable car, with a remarkable history. The original owner was an wealthy elder gentleman, and Cadillac afficionado. He had special ordered this automobile in 1982, and took delivery of it in 1983. In true iconic style, he flew to the factory, in order to watch his latest Cadillac roll off the assembly line. Several years after enjoying the car, it was involved in a small insurance claim. A windstorm had done a bit of damage. Unsatisfied with the way he was being treated, the owner took the car to the dealership to get repairs done to his liking. As I understand it, evidently he was used to getting his way, and by this time, there was a bit of dimensia at play. Everything was ordered new for the car. Everything the car didn't even need. He ordered all brand new trims, all brand new grill, all brand new everything. He got a new top put on the car, and a glamorous paintjob with multiple coats of clear. Never being quite satisfied with the chrome, he sent the bumpers and grill out to get triple plated in show chrome. Most remarkably..... He had ordered a BRAND NEW crate engine! Also, a brand new crate transmission!! This is at less than 49,000 miles since the car was new!!!!! Since then, the car has seen perhaps less than 25 outings. That was back in the mid-'80's, and it has not been even been hand washed since; only rinsed. The paint is near perfection, without any "swirl marks" from washing or anything. The car has sat inside the garage, parked on carpet, covered with sheets, for 30 years. It is occassionally started but, hasn't been driven more than 12 times since. There is not a chip. The chrome gleams like no other! This is a marvelous car for those who appreciate the classic comfort and elegance of Cadillacs from an era gone by. What a time machine! There are 4 brand new tires. They are the top-of-the line that were recommended by the tire centre. Also, the entire exhaust system is brand new. The car really didn't require either but, both were about the only upgrade that could've been done. Combined cost was in the neighbourhood of $2500 +/-. The engine is started regularly to keep fluids circulated, and maintain all the seals. Occasionally, it is driven down the driveway and back. There are no leaks. I have kept the interior rubber and plastic well conditioned with premium products. The car is VERY clean inside-out, top and underneath! Also, every nook, cranny, and crevice in the engine bay is spotless. The only flaws I can point out to anyone are that there is a chip in the windshield, in the driver's line of sight. The front marker lights have slightly clouded. One wheel trim has a tiny ding, presumably from another door in our garage. And, the steering wheel has cracked. Asides from that, it is truly quite spectacular. In reference to the photo's; they are very recent, taken just last weekend. Most were just snapped Saturday morning on our driveway, and 2 were at a charity car show. I hadn't taken the car on a drive in quite some time, and wanted to ensure everything was fine so, I participated in the local 1st Annual Fireman's Charity Car Show. It was a good cause, but really allowed me opportunity to take the car to "stretch out it's legs" on a fine sunny day. The listing was placed the next morning, after I was comfortable everything performed and operated A-1. The Cadillac is ready to be welcomed into it's new home.
