Thanks.*** 1998 Honda Prelude 3rd Owner Private Seller 147,545 Miles 5 Speed Manual Transmission 30MPG This Honda Prelude is Beautiful! Overview: For sale by owner is a beautiful 1998 Honda Prelude. Adult owned and very well maintained. Garage kept and detailed regularly. Never abused and always cared for. This Prelude is in excellent condition inside and out. It has been meticulously maintained and has no problems or issues. No smoke, no leaks, no dash warning lights, no funny noises, nothing. This Honda gets great gas mileage. I use Lucas Fuel Treatment every other fill up and average 29 miles per gallon city/highway average using 93 octane Premium Fuel. The Prelude starts right up every time. This Prelude has the 2.2 Liter DOHC VTEC engine (H22A4). The engine runs very nice and quiet with great power. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. The brakes work great with no noises. This Prelude drives perfect. The suspension rides very nice and the steering is tight and responsive. This Prelude drives down the road straight with no pulling or vibrations. It just floats on the highway, very comfortable. The Cruise Control works perfect. The Power Moonroof works great with no leaks. The power windows work great. The heat works great and the A/C works awesome. The A/C system was recently serviced and it is ice cold. The 6 Speaker Premium Stereo sounds awesome. The Sony in-dash has an auxiliary port so you can plug in your iPhone or MP3 player and listen to your tunes. Every interior option and gadget works great with no issues. The exhaust is quiet with no leaks. Included below is the Carfax Report. The car has a Rebuilt Title due to a minor accident in 2006. The accident happened right after I bought the car, it had 90k miles on it and exactly 1 month later an old lady hit the front left corner. I was very surprised to learn that the insurance company declared it a total loss since the damage was so minor. There was no frame damage or structural damage, no airbags went off, no damage to the suspension, wheels, or engine. The only things replaced were the front bumper cover and the front left fender. The fender wasn't even that damaged, in fact I still have it and it is pictured below. The damage to the car was so minor I immediately bought the car from the insurance company the next day and had the car repaired at Honda. A Rebuilt Title was issued to me a month later. I have never had any issues since the accident, which was 57k miles ago. It has been an absolute pleasure to own this car. I searched 9 months for this car before I found it in 2006. The 1st owner lived in Florida. The 2nd owner lived in Indiana. I bought the car from him in 06. I recently moved from Indiana to Illinois for a new job. I can easily say this is the best car I have ever owned. I hope the next owner appreciates this car as much as I have. If it wasn't for the fact that my first child is on the way and needing a 4 door sedan for the little guy, then I would never sell this car. Exterior: The Eucalyptus Green Pearl exterior is beautiful. This Prelude is washed and detailed regularly. The paint still shines like new. There are no dents, scrapes, or scratches. The rear wheel wells have a couple small spots of rust. The rear spoiler has some clear coat peeling on the rear edge of it. The car has one small door ding on the rear quarter panel near the passenger door but that's it. The headlights are polished with 3m polish regularly and still look great with no haze or discoloration. The tail lights have no cracks or discoloration and look perfect. The windshield is perfect with no chips or cracks. The factory Honda wheels are super clean and still look beautiful. They are cleaned and polished regularly with Mothers Polish. The exterior plastic trim is conditioned regularly and has no fading. The hood has some rock chips from driving on the highway. The factory chrome exhaust tips are polished regularly and look perfect. The exhaust was replaced in 2012. The front and rear chrome Honda emblems are in great shape. All exterior lighting works perfect. The last bulbs changed were the headlights which were replaced with Sylvania Silverstar Headlight Bulbs. Both side mirrors are perfect. This Prelude has been cared for and it shows. I'm that guy that parks way out in the empty part of the parking lots. In doing so I have prevented this car from getting dinged, dented and scraped by careless drivers. Interior: The interior is super clean as well with no issues. The interior is always kept clean. The dash and door panels are super clean with no issues. The carpet is clean with no major stains. The factory floor mats are still in beautiful shape. The drivers floor mat shows some wear. The headliner has no stains or issues and looks perfect. There are no broken or missing interior trim. Both power windows work perfect. The power moonroof works great. It has a very nice Sony in-dash stereo in it with 6 Infinity speakers. The stereo has an auxiliary port for iPhones, iPods, and mp3 players. The premium speakers sound awesome. Crisp clear highs and clean bass. The seats are clean with no cuts or holes. The drivers seat shows some wear from use but still looks good. There are no dash warning lights. Steering wheel is in great condition and the horn buttons work great. Cruise Control works perfect. The e-brake works perfect. The 12v power outlet works great. The climate control works great on every setting. The heat works awesome and the a/c is ice cold. Every option and gadget works great. The engine bay is clean. The trunk is clean as well and has the spare tire and tools which have never been used. Options and Extras: This Prelude has the factory H22A4 2.2 Liter DOHC VTEC engine with 5 speed manual transmission. The air filter was replaced with a K&N air filter in 2012. This car comes with polished wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel, power moonroof, and all power options from the factory. The Prelude has a factory installed rear Spoiler with LED brake light. It also has a dealer installed OEM factory exhaust with chrome exhaust tips which was installed in 2012. The gauge bezels were painted silver. Looks really cool. The windows were professionally tinted in 2011 and look great. The windshield is tinted across the upper part of it which looks great. The roof has a dealer installed Honda rain/bug guard for the moonroof. The Sony stereo was installed a couple years ago. The 6 Infinity speakers sound awesome. Maintenance: This Prelude has been maintained very well. Genuine OEM Honda parts are always used. The oil is changed every 3000 miles with Honda 5W30. I only use oem Honda oil filters. The valves were adjusted at 117K miles. The battery was just replaced last December with a genuine oem Honda Battery with a 100 month warranty. The radiator was replaced in 2013 with a factory oem Honda Toyo Radiator. The coolant is drained and refilled every year. The transmission oil was drained and refilled at 128k miles with factory oil. The front and rear shocks were replaced in 2012. A tune-up was done at 90K miles which included spark plugs, spark plug wires, pcv valve, and air filter. All 4 tires were replaced last December with Cooper RS-C tires. A 4 wheel alignment was done when the tires were put on. Brakes pads were done at 123K miles. The Starter was replaced in June of 2011. The Timing Belt and Water Pump service was done at 109K miles with genuine oem Honda parts. This included replacing the Timing Belt, Balance Shaft Belt, Roller Tensioner Bearing, Balance Shaft Tensioner, Crankshaft Seal, both Camshaft Seals, Water Pump, Water Pump Gasket, Timing Cover Gasket, and Valve Cover Gasket. The Serpentine Belt and Power Steering Pump Belt were replaced last November. The exhaust was replaced in 2012 with factory exhaust from the dealer. The A/C system was serviced last month. The system was drained, oiled and refilled with R134. This is done every 2 years. The A/C Compressor, A/C Condenser, and 2 A/C lines were replaced 3 years ago. The headlight bulbs were just replaced. Everything is documented from oil changes and parts purchases all the way down to gas mileage. I have every receipt for every Honda part I purchased.
