Vehicle Detail
Im selling my 1952 Mercury Monterey 2 door hard top. I don't particularly want to sell it but I'm going off to college and I need a "normal" car so she needs to find a home. She's a great hot rod or cruiser or a daily driver. I've driven it everywhere for 4 years and it'll get you there without any problems. I am the second owner of this car and I bought it all original from North Carolina from the original owner. Note: Photos show driver side without hubcaps and with wheel skirts and passenger side with hubcaps but without fender skirts. Drivetrain: 350 SBC from 87 corvette 340 hp ( Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor) built new with mild cam (15,000 miles on motor) Dual sump oil pan Turbo 350 trans Custom Chevy to ford driveshaft Peg leg rear end New front disk brake conversion New master cylinder & power brake unit New Aluminum 4 core radiator New fuel sender unit (installed but not hooked up) Flow master exhaust sounds great New Electric fuel pump Radial tires Suspension: New 3" lowering leaf springs in rear New shocks front and back lowered 2" in the front and 3" in the rear Have new rubber body mounts (not installed) Interior: Reupholstered front and rear bench seats Rare coupe no post Perfect original glass window gears and cranks work great Newly upholstered rear deck and door panels Push button start Kenwood sound system and speakers iPhone hook up New radio antennae new wiring harness new 12 volt wiring new carpet kit In dash tachometer where the old 6 volt clock was New gauges in original gauge cluster speedometer and tachometer light up with headlights headliner is removed but i have the original headliner for a template and all the metal ribs to go with it Custom pin up bomber art on glove box Original visor view finder for stop lights Front and rear seat belts External: rat rod styling faux patina Door art LED turn signals and working spot light Original Rear wheel skirts Have original visor but will need some metal work to straighten it out original black car body is Straight bumpers are plasti-dipped and the chrome underneath is perfect all you need to do is peel it off if you want (very easy) Extras: Meticulously built and maintained by myself for the 4 years I've had the car I have all the paper work regarding any kind of work that has been done to this car since 1952 Boxes of extra parts from original owner Dealership pamphlets from time of purchase 2 sets (8 in total) of perfect mercury hubcaps The original owner purchased a lot of optional dealership parts when he first bought the car, such as the custom steering wheel and chrome rock guards. 2 sets of original keys Only downside is a very small oil leak from front timing cover and will need new front tires since it was recently realigned. Also, the speedometer and trunk lock will need repair, the odometer turns fine but I believe spring is broken in the speedometer and the trunk opens, closes and latches fine but does not lock The car gets looks and thumbs up wherever it goes. I've been to car shows all over california and have never seen another '52 Mercury, it is truly a one of a kind car. There are very few of these Mercuries left.
