Vehicle Detail

We have for sale at a low reserve price a NON RUNNING project for a W108 280 SE 4.5 mechanical // electrical tech. Subject car was bought at an insurance auction 5 years ago pushed into a corner in our storage facility and has been inside out of the weather since. By the photos provided you can see this car led a pampered life for most of the last 43 years. We have been buying, repairing, restoring driving trading and generally enjoying these cars for the last 40 years and this one is a real sleeper. At 38,350 original miles, floors, rockers, spare tire wells, all solid all original metal, my guess is the paint is original coat as well. For exact paint, interior and complete VIN we are waiting on photos of the appropriate tags. The interior is flawless only requires cleaning and detailing. The engine room wiring somehow shorted - if you chase the melt down it looks as though the problem started when the left front wing got dinged smashing and apparently shorting the parking light +12V to the ground wire... which due to the light nature of the accident remained energized as the owner kept drivng. slowly melting all back the harness the owners abandoned the car where the meltdown happend - calling their insurance company who paid off the owners and auctioned the car. Again, this auto is a PROJECT requiring a skilled automotive electrician with a detailed MB wiring diagram of a W108.067 model and the ability to interpret said diagram while cleaning out the engine room wiring harness. The problem never reached the fuse block as you can see by the photo provided. Via the red car you are being provided a used identical engine room wiring harness, engine, switches, relays to work with. Also check out that factory installed Becker cassette tape deck in the red one. the red car is a complete rust out and will be worth parts only.. trying to save the green one as it would be a shame to crush such a low miles solid original condition car such as this. Priced with low low reserve to move these as we need room for two welding machines, and benches. All transport to buyers account - viewing by appointment only - any question or clarifications please ask via ebay
