Vehicle Detail
1967 OLDSMOBILE TRUE 442 with a 4-speed Here it is gentleman!!! All of you 442 guys out there that have been waiting to find the ultimate 4 speed 4 barrel, with 2 exhaust pipes, this may be the car that turns your dreams into reality. Opportunities like this don't come around very often. Why drive around in a 442 with a column shift or an automatic floor shifter when you can have a factory 4-speed 442?? Remember, the first four in 442 stands for 4-speed!!! This is an extremely rare 1967 Oldsmobile 442 with the real deal 4-speed. Every true Olds guy knows how hard it is to find the real 4-speed 442 nowadays. 1967 is one of the most highly sought after Oldsmobile's with a 4-speed in the 442 line. This 442 was originally ordered with a 4-speed and in the beautiful light metallic blue with a black vinyl top. This body did have the original paint, but was mostly faded away before it was put in primer to protect the body. The new owner will actually be restoring this car for the very first time. This is a very desirable and rare color combination. You can view the original blue in the picture with the vehicle identification number. From everywhere I looked I believe this is a real numbers matching 442 from top to bottom. According to the previous owner this is a genuine 442 that does have the original numbers matching 400/350 horsepower Ultra High Compression engine. He said this is the original 4-speed transmission, and furthermore this sweet ride does have the original 10-bolt positive traction 442 rear end with the original boxed control arms, and the original rear sway bar. The actual mileage stated on the odometer was 86,079. I have no way to verify the mileage as original. Nowadays the mileage comes up exempt on a new title when a car is freshly registered that is over 10 to 20 years old depending on the state. This genuine 442 is 48 years old and has never been restored. Please look over the pictures carefully, so the lucky bidder who wins this rare gem can decide exactly what they would like to spend prior to placing their bid. From everything I've seen and have been told about this car, I personally believe this to be a true 442. From what I know about these cars I believe I have all of the stainless steel trim correct for this 442. Everything shown will be included in this auction. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. There are plenty of swap meets to attend this season if there is anything missing, but mostly every part for these cars are made in very nice aftermarket reproduction. This car will need a full restoration where every part and every panel will need attention. The front and the rear floor pans are in decent condition, and from what I can tell are the originals to the car and have never been replaced. The carpeting is brand new with a new set of four black carpeted floor mats. The front bucket seats were professionally reupholstered last week, so they should be nice and comfortable for many years to come. The rear seats are originals, and look very nice. I didn't see any cracks in the dash board, and the original AM radio is still in the dash, but not hooked up. This car even came factory ordered with the rare rally gauge option. This dash was never cut up like was typically done back in the day to fit aftermarket stereo's. This 442 sits on ET aluminum 15 inch mags with a set of four B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A raised white lettered steel belted radial tires with good tread. I've always felt that these cars ride best on 15 inch wheels. The original trunk floor had an issue near the front that had some patchwork, so the next owner may want to install a new section to make it perfect. It still has the original trunk mat with the original jack and original crow bar. Also included in the trunk is an old bias plyed spare tire. In my opinion the floors and frame still appears in decent condition, and this 442 needs a new owner to bring it back to its former glory. This 442 came from the factory with disc brakes. These older classics that have survived for close to 50 years are becoming harder and harder to find. The Nada Classic Car Price Guide currently has a genuine 1967 Oldsmobile 442 with a 400/350 horsepower engine, and a 4-speed listed at $59,400 in high condition, which they consider an excellent overall vehicle that was completely restored, or an original vehicle showing very minimal wear. Note: This value does not represent a 100 point show car or a #1 vehicle. Those vehicles can reach much higher prices. $38,040 in average condition, which they consider in good overall condition that could be an older restoration or a well maintained original vehicle that is completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. They say an average condition car is considered a 20-Footer! They have the lowest condition value at $24,720 being considered a deteriorated restoration or a very poor restoration, but mostly usable "As-Is!" The lowest value does not represent a parts car, but would be considered as the price for a car needing a complete restoration. Whatever this classic genuine 442 sells for in this quick "No Reserve" 3-day auction is a win/win investment. This Oldsmobile is an investment that I believe will continue to rise as these true 442's have consistently shown to escalate in value with each quarter. This genuine 1967 Oldsmobile 442 4-speed car is for the father and son that has a lot of spare time on their hands, and wants to bond as a family unit with a massive project, or for the high end muscle car restoration shop that does these cars to show car quality status. Here is a prime opportunity to acquire your dream car at a nominal price. I know my descriptions can be a little long winded, but I try to list everything I can think of when I write a description, so every potential bidder can make the most informed decision prior to placing their bid. If you feel I may have left anything out please ask as many questions as you like. I pride myself in answering every question in explicit detail with the utmost honesty. What you see is exactly what you get! This car is being offered at "No Reserve" on a 3-day listing. It will sell to the highest bidder on Sunday evening at 5:00pm Pacific, 7:00pm Central, or 8:00pm Eastern time depending on your location. Thank You for taking the time to read and view my auction!!!
