This sophisticated coupe was born in Pontiac, Michigan and sold in the San Francisco Bay Area, where it has resided its entire life. The Pontiac Grand Prix was a posh personal performance car that set the stage for the american muscle car era. The Pontiac Grand Prix represented a new way of thinking with it's styling cues; the vertical headlights and distinct grille that only says Pontiac. The gracefully sculpted C pillars supporting the unique Concave rear window exclusive to only the Pontiac Grand Prix. The rear hidden tail lights also a classic style starting with the GP. To say the least the 1964 Grand Prix is a beautiful architect of classic 60's styling. This particular 64 GP is an example of a functional survivor. Having grown up in the mild Northern California climate this car has been well preserved and for the most part pretty original. Cosmetically this car is in great shape for being 51 years old, the paint is not perfect and there are a few minor dings here and there. All the chrome shines quite nice, all the emblems are present. This car has an original 389 cubic inch v8 motor runs and drives pleasantly, it is equipped with a Flowmaster dual exhaust system that gives this car a nice purr to it. The interior is in decent condition. There is a tear on the drivers seat, the carpet is decent but 51 years old wear and tear is expected. There is no Headliner and the dash has veneers over the original wood. The gauges and radio are non functional. Door panels are in good shape, still has the original rear speaker in the seat. The windows are all in great shape and have no cracks. All in all this is not a restored Grand Prix, but instead a running and driving classic that is in great shape for the age. It would take little effort to make this a fully restored GP.
