I bought this car over 10 years ago as a project, it was a driver but it was very rough so here is what I did to make it into a eye turner while keeping it original. VERY SOLID CAR, NO RUST, looks good drives great. You can do the same, buy a car and put all the time, parts and labor into it or you can get mine. In Europe, these are going for 30K, if you intend to buy a car that will appreciate in value and you can get all of the parts, any time. Buy a investment for the future that is drivable. Unless you crash it and total it out, every year it will be worth more. It has a rebuilt overdrive transmission, (5 speed) (TR6Transmission) very rare and desirable addition. (cost $2,000 with the installation). THIS is the early TR4 (1963) model with the basic seats, NOT a TR4A, and more desirable, as there two axles are a problem. The solid axles rides a little rougher. It is also a lot rarer and worth more. Here is what was added: New windshield rubber, new doors and trunk rubber New carpet kit and under mats New rear jump seat interior, including interior vinyl wheel covers and top cover that hangs down over top bow Newer or new inside door panels 2012 New Top New, reconditioned rear luggage rack New front bumper and 2 new bumperettes or overriders. Back bumper is good, no dings 2 bumperettes have minor dings New bulbs and some sockets as needed. New rebuilt TR6, 4 speed and overdrive transmission installed in 2013 and has 200 miles on it, New Clutch and bearing New rebuilt Front End, springs, shocks, bushings total job made a huge difference in handling and ride 2013 New Rack and pinion New master hydraulic brake and clutch units 2009 Wire wheels are powder coated white in 2013, new tubes and spoke rubber protectors New exhaust muffler installed so it really sounds off like a race car, looks like a race car and the Number "63"can come off the doors as it is a decal. New Pertronics electronic ignition, wires, plugs starts easily and runs like a scalded cat sounds like a Ferrari. New paint in 2013. I took it down to the metal, There was no rust, redid any defects, replaced the doors, added new "fuzzy" strips to the window, and around door sill, cleaned, sanded and painted all under the hood, firewall, rear trunk, sealed under the fenders. This passes the 6ft visual test. Not perfect, but real clean. The engine has great compression in all 4 cylinders and does not burn or use oil, oil pressure is 70 when started drops to 40 when warm good for a Triumph. 135 lbs each cylinder no engine noises. Does not overheat. Since I got the car 10 years ago, it has been a fun project, I don't think I put more than 400 Miles on the car in total. This car is reliable and a blast to drive, it gets a lot of attention and in car show it is always getting a crowd. But the real fun is driving it. This drive like a real sports car, like a TR3 as it has same frame and suspension. I have keep this car always in the garage, never goes out in the rain. The top goes up in about 5 minuets so don't wait till your all wet before deciding to put on the top. I have a TR6 as well and I don't need both cars.
