Vehicle Detail
1976 BMW 2002 Automatic Hemming's Writeup on the 2002 - BMW's 2002 is one of those cars that you just can't get enough of. If you've owned one in the past, chances are great that you'll own another one sometime in the future. Once this compact, boxy sports sedan gets into your system, you won't likely ever get it out. Its appeal is that contagious. I know, I've owned six of them, and I plan on buying another 2002 as soon as I can find one that suits my needs. Link to entire article - http://www.hemmings.com/hmn/stories/2008/02/01/hmn_feature1.html This 2002 is a 3-owner car, spending over 30 years with one owner in Dayton, Ohio. Records from 1980. Other than a repaint from its original Chamonix white to metallic blue, it appears an all original car. Starts, runs, and drives well. It has received a recent full service by a factory BMW tech, including oil and filter change, new Weber carb, new spark plugs and wires, new cap & rotor, coolant flush and hoses, rear brake line and flush. Tires have good tread. Note the car does have some rust. The rust is through in the spare wheel well and rockers, plus rust underneath, trunk lid and hood. Subframe mounts are solid. The interior is in good shape, other than the driver's seat is split and the clock is not working. The dash is crack free and door panels, kick panels, passenger and rear seats, glass, and headliner are all very good. If you've never run a 2002 Automatic, give it a try. Shifts are positive and quick, no slippage and leaves your right hand free for two on the wheel at all times. It is a fun car.
