Vehicle Detail

This is a 1966 230 SL Mercedes convertible with a 4 speed transmission. It has a fuel injected 2.3 liter inline six cylinder engine. The color is not original but is a Mercedes color. It has a Blaupunkt radio with casette player. Comes with two tops. The soft top is blue and the hard top is black (I believe it is the original paint job on it). It is a European model and the speedometer and odometer reads in kilometers. Garage kept. Really good driving condition. Runs strong. Has new carpet. Finish has some scratches that were professionally touched up but some are still visible. The soft top has a small tear but very servicable. The hard top has a broken handle but still functions. There is one spot on the rear wheel well that appears to be some rust. The driver's side glass has a scratch from a roller that must have malfunctioned. The window operates fine now. The body was overhauled in the early 1990's and new floor panels and any rust was cut out and replaced with Mercedes floor panels and sheet metal elsewhere, leaded, primed and painted. No bondo was used on the car. The front bumper has a golf ball sized dent but the chrome is unbroken. I have owned the car since 1986 and it has averaged about 100 to 500 miles a year since then. It is for sale because we are moving overseas. The car needs some TLC but can be driven and enjoyed while making the corrections. Thanks for looking.
