Vehicle Detail
If you’re looking for a stylish, classy, and rare performance Roadster that is in like new condition, this is the car you’ve been looking for. With only a reported 1,321 of these Roadsters ever made/sold worldwide, it is estimated that approximately 400 exist today in the United States. And none are likely to be closer to showroom new than this one. Brand new, the SRT6 Roadster listed for $51,480.I am the original owner. This car has been garage kept from day one and has only been used for short one day trips. With only 1,997 miles, this car still has that new car smell and is in like new condition. This car has never been in an accident or mistreated in any way. There are no dings, dents, tears, or stains. As with most any car with some age, there is some hazing on the headlamps and the tire pressure monitoring batteries may need replaced. It also has a handful of really nice custom upgrades: turn markers built into the side view mirrors; a high end Gentex digital rear view mirror with compass/temperature/garage remotes/maplight; a Boyo rear view camera; a Sony stereo with flip-up monitor and USB/MP3 player; additional SRT badging; an upgraded Chrysler cloth top with sewn-in rear glass window (with defrost), and a car cover. So, yes it is an extremely rare and pristine performance Roadster with all of the amenities, but the real value is in the driving experience it provides. This car feels like it rides on rails as it grips the road and is crazy responsive to the throttle. I love the auto-stick feature – you can cruise hassle free with its amazingly smooth transmission and take over any time you wish. This car offers more fun and enthusiastic driving (by far) than anything I’ve driven before – it is truly an escape from reality when you drive it.This Roadster is also a flat-out high performance machine. The SRT-6 models are equipped with a special supercharged version of the engine built by AMG. Its listed @ 4.8 seconds 0-60 and reportedly has been clocked @ 4.2 seconds. Either way, it moves. SRT stands for Street and Race Technology. It is the high-performance division of the Chrysler Group, just as AMG does the job for Benz and HSV for Holden. The Crossfire SRT-6 model uses the same drive-train, suspension, and braking components as those used on the Mercedes-Benz SLK 32 AMG. This is a serious car and not a good choice for a new driver. My only reason for selling the car is space – if I keep the car, I will have to place it into storage and I feel that would be a shame. I would rather see it go to a good home – where it’ll be enjoyed and cared for routinely. This is a special and collectible car - its a very rare find and you will love it.A $500 Paypal deposit at close of auction is required. The balance must be paid within 14 days of auction close either at your bank or mine (SunTrust) via cash/cashier funds. From Wikicars:With a supercharged AMG built version of the 3.2 litre taken from the Mercedes SLK32 AMG, a stiffer suspension and Mercedes leading manumatic 5 speed transmission, a true beast was born. Producing a stated 330HP and 310ft/lbs. of torque, this car (Crossfire SRT) has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds, and will stop from 100 mph in about 115 feet. 0 to 100 and back to 0 is reportedly completed in 15 seconds. Scoring high on the skid pad and slalom course, this car is a serious contender and will provide all the excitement and experience of much more expensive cars. Excerpts from professional test drivers/reviews:The Crossfire SRT6 is based on the Mercedes Benz SLK rear wheel drive platform and is actually built in Germany in the plant that produces the SLK…. they’ve added a supercharger which enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 5 seconds, now that’s exotic car territory! Its SOHC 18 valve engine produces 330 hp and although quiet at low speeds, gives a pleasant growl when the accelerator pedal is pushed. The floor pan is from Mercedes Benz but Uncle Sam strengthened the underside, improving on the MB version and giving it class leading rigidity.I love the shape of the SRT6; in fact, I think that it is possibly one of the best looking sports cars on the road…. then there’s the rear of the car, with its sexy dual center exit exhausts that you would only expect to find on an expensive, exotic Italian model. The roadster version looks wonderful with the top up, but push a button and the top disappears nicely under a hard roadster cover, revealing two stylish roll bars that make the vehicle look awesome. A hand-built 3.2-liter supercharged V-6 engine boasting 330-horsepower (246 kW) and 310 lb.-ft. of torque (420 N·m) powers the ultimate Chrysler Crossfire. Featuring a helical supercharger and a water-to-air intercooler, the 18-valve V-6 engine delivers 90 percent of peak torque across a broad range of the power band — from 2,300 to 6,200 rpm.The front suspension is a double wishbone setup with gas charged shocks. On the rear, independent coil springs with gas shocks again. The car carries 18” wheels up front and 19” on the rear which certainly add a little something to the look of the vehicle. The 225/35/19 rear tires might appear like the rubber was sprayed on, but they do give amazing grip. The ride qualities however do not suffer from this, as the car has a curb weight of only 1500 kgs. The SRT6 drives like an expensive European sports car, but you are constantly aware that what’s lurking underneath is…. out of the ordinary. The SRT6 boasts race-inspired seats trimmed in Nappa Pearl Leather with Alcantara suede inserts and bolsters which glue you to the seat and are just perfect in a car with the performance of the SRT6. The instrumentation layout and illumination is pleasing to the eye and the controls are conveniently placed. The true test of a car like this is how it makes you feel, and after a week spent in the SRT6, I felt great and in fact, I didn’t want to give it back.... the car is absolutely amazing.
