Vehicle Detail
1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt This Thunderbolt is one of the nicest clones I have ever seen. The engine is a 390. The engine compartment shows a lot of attention to detail, and does not leak any fluids. there is an electric pusher fan as well as the factory clutch fan. The transmission is a 5 spd manual that feels good and goes through all gears nice and smoothly. The car has drum brakes and a single master cylinder. The brakes are obviously not like a new car but they definitely feel great for an old single master cylinder system. The body on this fairlane is in nice shape. The door, trunk and hood gaps are nice, and it seems to be a very solid car. The only notable issues are up on the drivers side C-pillar shows some slight surface bubbles. Doesn't seem to be rust, since it is an odd spot for rust. The driver side fender nearest to the tire shows the same bubbling as the C-pillar. It does seem like bad prep or some sort of paint issue, but there is really no telling. The bumpers on the car are near perfect. All the trim and bright parts on the car are all in excellent shape, including the grill, door handles and window trims etc. The glass is near perfect as well, showing no scratches or chips or issues what so ever. The interior is one of my favorite parts of this car, It is very nice and you would have a hard time finding any problems. It is very nice. When this interior was put together it was done by someone who knew what they were doing and really took there time. The upholstery on the seats is refinished to appear stock. It is all uniform with no wrinkles or cracks or issues anywhere. The dash is in excellent shape, as well as all the gauges, and radio. The carpet lays nice and flat with no bumps or wrinkles or gaps anywhere. Very nicely installed. The door panels are no exception to the rest of the interior, as they are perfect and beautifully redone as well. The windows roll up and down smoothly with no issues. Headliner is also nice with no issues, or sags. The 3 gauges under the dash are all matching Stewart Warner battery voltage, coolant temp, and oil pressure that all work properly as they should. The steering wheel is nice but is showing some cracks in the normal corner spots. The tach on the dash is an auto meter that looks period correct. The trunk has the proper mat, jack, and spare tire. The battery is also mounted in the trunk. The decals on the outside are all very nice quality and show no fading or issues. They can be removed very easily to change the look of the car. Overall, it is a very cool car that is pretty well sorted out. I welcome and encourage anyone to come see the car before bidding. Im sure I have overlooked or missed something, So If you have any questions, please ask, and I will do my best to answer them.
