On Apr-09-15 at 14:56:45 PDT, seller added the following information: 1988 Toyota Corolla Coupe SR5, Original paint, No accidents, Runs great. I have video demonstrating starting the car and it running for anyone who asks for it. If the price goes to my buy it now price ($2100 or above), I'll through in the Toyota factory shop manual (note: the "Buy-It-Now" feature was disabled by eBay once the reserve is met, thus the auction will have to play out). The original Toyota user manual goes with the car regardless of price as well as the Tire warranty paperwork. On Apr-10-15 at 17:56:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Update to car status:I decided to take a couple pictures under the car so folks can get a better feel for the cars great condition. As the buyer will see when they get the title I only transferred the Title on 3/25/15 from my daughter when I brought the car home from her college to sell it for her, thus I have not had the car up on ramps before. However what I saw was moisture under the transmission and upon closer inspection I noticed the boots were cracked, I though they were called CV Boots, but really they are called Bellows Boots for the Rack-N-Pinion steering. So I took the car to the regular shop today (where the car has been serviced for the last 10-15 years here in Tucson) and told them to replace the CV boots. It turns out its cheaper just to replace the axles with the boots rather than just the CV boots alone because of labor, so thats what I did. When I got the car home I pulled it back up on ramps to inspect their work. Thats when I noticed the leak was worse and the new axels didn't address my concern for what I now know are called Bellows Boots. I immediately called the shop back and told them of both concerns. Thus after a the car was viewed by a gentleman from southern Arizona today I drove the car back to the shop. I just got off the phone with shop and it turns out the leak is an axel seal they didn't notice when they replaced the axels so that is being replaced now at their expense. I told them to go ahead and replace the Bellows Boots as well since I discovered it and don't like surprises. I will get the car back on Monday which will now have new axles, a new transmission axle seal, and new Bellows Boot seals. By the way it was warm in Tucson today so I thought I'd see if the A/C worked at all after my daughter told me she didn't think it worked well. Turns out it worked very well pushing nice cold air, just took a couple minutes to push all the hot air out, so thats good news. I'll have to talk with her about her understanding of timeframe for A/C to work well in a hot car. Sorry about not doing a closer inspection underneath the car before I posted it, its always been a great little car for her. Even though I'll have spend a little under $800 on repairs you shouldn't need to worry about discoveries if you didn't get a chance to see the car first to see what great shape it really is in. I don't like unpleasant surprises and hate vehicle leaks, because I didn't notice these items before I put the car up for sale I considered it my responsibility to address them and disclose what I discovered. If you have any further questions give me a call. On Monday when I get the car back I'll post pictures of the receipts for work done, I left the receipt for the axel job in the car when I took it back, but both receipts will stay with the car for your documentation. Also if you want a video of the car starting and running you'll have to send me your cell number, I don't seem to be able to upload video on eBay and Comcast says the file is too large to email (its a 25s clip). Lastly a question asked more than once, yes the car has the original owners manual with it as well as jack, lug wrench, and holding bag, all in great shape. Quick Photo update, I can't upload the pics directly because I already have the 24 count limit. I talked toe eBay and they said I can do this via PhotoBucket and post here, so I'll try to figure that out and re-update. I'd like to show the underside front and back as well as the spare tire location under in the truck so you can see even better the condition of the car. If I can't figure this out and you want to see these few pics email me in eBay, I can post them that way as well. On Apr-10-15 at 18:46:44 PDT, seller added the following information: On Apr-11-15 at 16:32:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Update 2: I have received a request and concern for paying via Cashiers Check. When I put the Ad together in eBay it would only let me enter upto a $500 deposit via PayPal, this was an eBay limit not a PayPal limit. To answer this concern I called eBay and after getting someone who understood how this works they let me know there will be an option at the close of the auction to pay the full amount via PayPal as long as it is within PayPal limits which this auction should be. Thus paying via PayPal when that comes up is perfectly fine with me and actually would speed the process for me getting you the signed Title & a Bill of Sale and allow for your arranging pick up or shipment. So the option will be yours for either of these payment methods. I will also do an update on Monday after I get the car back from the shop for addressing the things mentioned above that I had fixed. As stated above I fixed them because I didn't know they needed addressing and did not think it ethical to have an auction start and then upon my discovery pretend I didn't know about them, thats not how I conduct myself. Morals and principles that honor God and my family are more important than money to me, maybe I'm not normal but I very comfortable with that, not better than anyone else, just accountable. I am also going to do a quick check of general maintenance type things and state items I think should be addressed if they are obvious to me. I'm not a mechanic, I'm a retired electrical engineer who loves to work with his hands fixing and creating, this car has required very very little of that as its been well maintained, which is always less expensive. I can list two items now but will re-list them in Mondays update on the work being completed and verified by me. Item 1: front brake pads are getting low and should be replaced soon, no metal to metal but low pad depth (I bought them new and they will be in the trunk, I recommend turning rotors as usual, $15 each at Brake Max if your a do it yourself). Item 2: wiper blades need replacement. On Apr-13-15 at 17:47:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Update 3: As stated yesterday I would update today as I expected to get the car out of the shop for replacing the Bellows Boots, an axle seal, and a front end alignment (required by replacing the Bellows Boots). Well all but the front end alignment is completed, which means I will be picking up the car at 9am tomorrow instead of this evening. I'll still post a quick update tomorrow then because I want to inspect the work and list any maintenance items I think should be done, although thinking about this last night I already mentioned the two that need to be done, every thing else I really expect to be a status as the vehicle has been well maintained.
