Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1959 Oldsmobile 98 Scenic Coupe 2 dr Hard Top. This was Oldsmobile's top of the line model in 1959. I've had this car for about ten years, had big plans to make a mild custom. Life gets in the way sometimes so it's up for sale. It has a Rocket 394 engine with a Jetaway Hydromatic 4 speed transmission. The motor runs but I have no idea of how many miles or condition. Tranny slipped and the fluid was leaking from the front seal. This car sat from 1968 till 2004 in a garage in northern California. I bought it from the granddaughter of the original owner. It has the factory PosiTraction rear end. It has new brakes all around, drums turned. It is pretty much all original suspension, it's had a heavy duty 4 link installed to replace factory leaf spring in the rear. The front A-arms were modified for air bags. It has Slam Specialties Air Bags front and rear. The car lays frame. There are no air valves or tank included. The body is a 98 Series with factory tinted glass, only damage is a small crack in the extreme drivers lower corner. All windows are power as is the front seat and radio antenna. This car came equipped with leather seats and a flocked headliner which is no longer there. The original head liner boards are included. The original carpet was rotted and removed the floors have surface rust but no major rust through. Most of the original trunk liners are present but the original jack is missing. This car was equipped with power steering and power brakes. The original radio is included but the dash molding was modified for a newer style radio. The exterior body has some small dents and dings but no major accidents. The lower rocker molding were removed and holes filled. The drivers front fender is the only missing side trim. The door trim is in the trunk. The white paint is the factory original and it has never been repainted. There is zero body filler. It has surface rust but no major rust outs. The rockers which are usually rusted out are in great shape on this car. Also included is a pair of Foxcraft fender skirts. Tires and wheels are original 14". Two hubcaps included, but missing clips to hold them on. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. Buyer is responsible for pick up and transport, I will my best to help with loading, but I will not ship the car. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. I will hold for up to 30 days if paid in full This car is sold as is with a bill of sale only, last registered in 1968. CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY, I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME. ANYBODY WITH LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACK CONTACT ME FIRST OR I WILL CANCEL YOUR BID. About Payment: A $500 non refundable deposit required via Paypal within 48 hours of auction close.
