Vehicle Detail

Before I describe all the details about this great car, I will answer the most common questions that I get from ebay users when I list a car. First, I do not have a Buy-it-now option. I will not end the auction early, it is not fair to those that like to "snipe bid", I want to be fair to all potential bidders. Second, I have no interest in trades of any type, I simply want to sell this car outright. Please check my feedback, both as a seller and a buyer. I don't cheat anyone and have sold quite a few cars and trucks on ebay and all have been pleased with their purchase. I am a serious Mopar collector and currently own 49 1968-1974 Dodges and Plymouths. I hope that if you have any questions that are not answered in my listing that you will send me your question, I will respond promptly. Thanks for taking the time to check out my listing. This real 71 Road Runner spent most of its life in Georgia, where it didn't end up with a lot of salt encrusted rust. Check out the pic of the lower door inner flange, solid, solid, solid. The quarters and trunk floor are still original, quite a rare thing. The body is laser straight and the gaps are all uniform and tight. The doors hang right and close very nicely, there is no drop in the hinges. All the glass is original, except the windshield, which I replaced since the OE glass had started to fog around the lower corners. I still have it and if the buyer wants the original date coded windshield, you are welcome to it. The bumpers are nice and fit very well as you can see in the pics. The rear has been rechromed and the front is original with minor peppering, but still a good shine and not noticeable from a few feet away. The upper grill and headlight bezels are unbroken and painted in the correct argent and satin black pattern. The lower grill is near perfect, too. The paint is exceptional, level and very glossy. It is Axalta (DuPont) Chromabase with 7900S clear. Color sanded and buffed to a near mirror finish, see the pics. The stainless trim was all professionally polished to a very high shine. The outer cat whiskers are new Top Cat weatherstrips. The stripes are Phoenix Graphics and the roof strobe stripe is reflective, it really lights up at night when headlights hit it, see last pic to see what a flash does to the black stripe. The interior is just as nice as the exterior with new seat covers, carpet, headliner, console woodgrain, package tray liner, etc. The seat frames were cleaned and repainted before installing the new PUI cover. The front seat tracks were media blasted, painted and lubed. The gauges all work. The original 1971 AM/FM radio works, but to be honest 70's technology sure doesn't sound like a modern stereo. The seat belts were slightly faded, so they were redyed to freshen them up. The door panels are very nice as are the door and window handles. The sill plates are very nice, too. The trunk is very nice inside with a spare, jack mast, jack hook, lug wrench and jack base all present. The trunk mat is so new, the wrinkles have even relaxed and flattened out, which they will once it sets outside on a nice, hot summer day. There is a new spare tire and jack decal on the underside of the deck lid, too. The trunk seal is new and so are the NOS rear side marker lights. All the lights work, headlights, dome, side markers, parklamps, taillights, etc. The taillight lenses are new, since the original were faded and the black trim was weathered. The tires are new and the Rallye wheels are 15x7 on the rear and 15x6.5 on the front. The trim rings and center caps are very nice and correct for the car. The engine is a non-original forged crank 383, freshly rebuilt. Some of the parts that were used the engine build are as follows: Balanced Keith Black .030 oversize flat top (10 to 1 compression) lightweight pistons with Sealed Power Moly faced rings on balanced LY rods with ARP bolts. Clevite bearings were used on the mains, cam and rods. ARP main studs were also installed. A Melling high volume oil pump was installed to insure plenty of oil for high performance use. The heads have hardened seats and open chambers. The valve pockets were cleaned up and mildly ported. The intake is an Edelbrock single plane. The ignition is Mopar Performance Electronic. The cam is a Mopar Performance "Street Hemi Grind" complete kit, with lifter, springs and cam. The cam was broken in properly with plenty of zinc additive in the oil to protect the lifters and cam lobes. Of course, all the belts, hoses, water pump and alternator are new. The exhaust is 2.5" aluminized with Raptor mufflers with a nice rumble at idle without the crackling of glass packs or the drone of Flowmasters. The original Bazooka tips are in good shape, too. The non-original 727 transmission was completely rebuilt with Kevlar bands and heavy duty clutches. The valve body is still automatic and got a performance shift kit that will bark the tires when it shifts if you are on the throttle hard. New Inline tube cooling lines were also installed. The u-joints are new, too. The brakes were redone with all new lines and hoses. New master cylinder, new wheel cylinders and shoes on the original 11" drum brakes were installed. New front wheel bearings were installed and new rear axle bearings, too. The 8.75 rear end has a 742 case with a new Posi unit and 4.10 gears. The tires are tall, 255/70 R15, so the gears act more like 3.91s. You won't confuse the acceleration with a set of 2.76 gears, the car is quick. Now all the legalese: The car is sold as-is where is and no warranty applies. I am not a dealer, just a Mopar nut with too many cars. The car is located in Ashford, Alabama at my winter home. The winning bidder may pick up the car at this location after all payments have cleared or I will be happy to work with your shipper. I am retired, so scheduling pickup should be no problem for me. I require a $500.00 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of the auction close. Full payment is due within 10 days of the auction close. As mentioned, the car will remain in my possession until any and all wire transfers, certified checks, etc. have cleared my local bank. Of course, cash is always welcome and fast, too.On Mar-20-15 at 04:57:38 PDT, seller added the following information: In addition to the payment requirements specified, the car must be pickup up before April 22nd. That is my date that I will head North to my summer home in Michigan and will no longer be in Alabama to meet with a shipper or buyer.
