1979 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9 Up for auction is a nice desirable 6.9 liter Mercedes with factory options. The car looks nice, solid car with dark grey/charcoal paint color and tan interior. The car has passed California smog. The body looks good with a good quality re-paint at some time in the past, no evidence of over-spray. The interior also looks nice, the dash has the usual sun related dash cracks and the seats have been re-done. The carpet and other interior looks to be original. The engine sounds smooth, revs up quickly with no smoke or any noticeable leaks, the car has a valid smog certificate. The car shifts through the gears well and brakes well. The hydraulic suspension also works as it should. The air conditioning has been retrofitted to R134 A, the system blows cold air but has a leak. The windows (some are sluggish), and sunroof work and three of the vacuum door locks work.
