Rare, vintage, unique, street legal, 1970 Subaru 360 Micro Van. It has a 359cc, air cooled, rear engine, two stroke motor and four speed transmission driving the rear wheels. Suicide front doors, both side doors open and the rear window and tailgate open as well. Van will fit in the bed of a full size pickup! Originally a Southwest and California vehicle that was previously owned by 20th Century Props in California. Before 20th Century it was owned by a Subaru 360 collector and club member from Arizona. This van's last TV appearance was in the "Burning Man" episode of Malcolm in the Middle hence the current paint scheme. It also appeared in Lethal Weapon 4 and numerous TV shows and commercials. If desired, the painted on design will come off with lacquer thinner. The van will run but due to sitting it cranks over nicely but seems to not have any spark. I have owned the van since 2009 and it has always been garaged since it left California. Included with the van is a Brand New reproduction windshield and rubber gasket, spare wheel and tire, extra unmounted tire, service manual, bumpers, old headliner to use a template, and the other items pictured in the parts photo. The frame and floor are solid as is the majority of the body. There are some minor rusty spots, most notably the right front corner of the roof and a section of the roof near the driver's side rain gutter. The van has a quite a few easily popped out dents located mostly on the roof. All glass is excellent including the reproduction windshield and the front and rear door windows all open and close. The van will need the spark issue addressed, the brake system overhauled and obviously the seat needs to be redone. There is no rear seat included. The odometer reflects 52,001 miles. As this is a project vehicle it is Sold "as is" with a Bill of Sale. There is no title included however, a number of States do not issue titles for vehicles over a certain age. Additionally most states have provisions for obtaining a title/registering a vehicle that does not have one. It would be wise to check your state's DMV regulations as it may not be difficult to obtain a title/registration in your particular state. A previous owner's expired registration is available to the buyer. Ebay requires an entry in the title status box that's why it reflects salvage.
