Because there are very few records of the original Race Cars of the 1920's we cannot state that this is an original 1928 Chevrolet Race Car. What we can say is that this 1928 Chevrolet Boattail Speedster Racer has beautiful lines and would make an amazing project for someone looking to restore a unique 1920's era race car. 4 years ago the original 1928 Chevrolet motor was fully rebuilt, but the wiring and fuel lines were never installed and the motor has not yet been fired back up. At the same time the 3 speed transmission and secondary 2 speed gearbox was rebuilt. The combination in theory gives this 1928 Chevrolet Boattail Speedster Racer a 6 speed transmission. The rear driveshaft is hooked up. The entire frame and axles were sand blasted and then coated in POR-15 black paint. The tires were all replaced with brand new tires 4 years ago and have not seen the road yet. The body was then bolted back on. Most of the actual boattail body looks to be original, although it is clear that some more recent restoration efforts were started. Overall we are offering an amazing project for the right person to build a truly unique 1928 Chevrolet Boattail Speedster Racer.
