Great opportunity to get a 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera convertible without busting the bank! This is a nice driver that will only appreciate especially with the way 911 prices are going these days and with a little love will make an excellent 4 wheel investment! This is a 2001 Porsche Carrera with, yes, 170000 miles but runs out very well. I've decided to purge any automatics that I have so this one has to go, so I have priced it right so I can go and get a 6-speed 911 before the prices get too crazy. I doubt there are many other 996 style Porsches out there at this price so if you want a 911 don't hesitate to call me at 912-677-8965 or bid as this priced to go quick. First as you know pictures always make the car look better, not to take away from this car but if you are looking for perfection look elsewhere as this car is not for you. If you want a 911 that you can drive while you customize it and make it your own or just slowly improve it than continue reading. The exterior is good but does have some flaws including a little ding on the hood and bumper as well as a separate little bruise on the front bumper. The taillights each have hairline cracks so they will need to be replaced. Headlights are cloudy but with a couple minutes of work will look like new again. Its black paint so there will be some scratches and scrapes and there is a couple places where there are chips in the paint. The canvas top is great, the rear window is a little cloudy but again a little bit of time and it will be clear again. In all it looks great but could be a lot better. Interior is typical Porsche tan, this particular shade does not wear very well. Seats are not torn and there is nothing broken but there is an overall look of use inside the cabin that with a little time and of course money could easily be brought back to new. Driver carpet needs to be replaced or a good mat put in to cover the wear. Power top works flawlessly. Mechanically is what you really want to know about and to answer a million questions with one line, yes you can drive this Porsche anywhere you want to go. That said there are issues that will need to be sorted out as you probably already expected. Nothing is too major but everything is worth mentioning. First, there is an oil leak high on the engine on the left side that goes onto the exhaust so when the car sits it will smoke (NOT FROM THE TAILPIPE), the gauges are all working but there are a couple lights on the dash including the air bag and brake wear so these will need to be addressed. A/C and heat work fine. Aftermarket radio is very nice touch screen, climate control works but has LED issues. Engine purrs as only a 911 boxer engine can and the transmission shifts as it should. I would change out all 4 shocks and struts as they have definitely run past their life expectancy and each creaks and moan like an old man when you hit any bumps. This car still turns heads and is a blast to drive and if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will be glad to help. If you understand that this is a high mileage Porsche that will need a little love and you are willing to give it the attention it needs or in other words is a running/driving work in progress than your search for a inexpensive super car may have just ended.
