1949 Chevy 3100 shortbed 5window pickupAll original unmolested truck mechanically solid ready to restore or drive as is!! Nice old 5window truck with all its original components. We have gone thru and rebuilt the brake system and fuel system. The wiring has been replaced with a new harness and it has a 12volt conversion. All the rubber and glass has been replaced, we have new wood in the bed, and a new chrome grill. The original interior has been restored and is very clean with the only non original part being custom door panels. The trucks frame is super clean and completely rust free. The entire body is pretty much rust free except for 3 small areas (see pics). Both rear cab corners have been repaired but the job was not a good one, so although the little rust that was there was taken out the areas could still be repaired properly if needed, otherwise it is ok (see pics). The only remaining area needing to be cut out and replaced is the driver floor board. There was a leak of the oil pressure line that went unnoticed and it caused the floor to split open at the crease as shown in the pic, its a simple fix. That is it, the entire rest of the truck is rust free including the front cab corners all the rest of the floors and the door hinges. The original 216 engine has been previously rebuilt and starts right up, runs very strong and never overheats. The 3 on the tree tranny shifts well and is smooth. The brakes work better than new, no pulling and stops straight with the hands off the steering wheel. Mechanically this truck is sold and needs absolutely nothing. The gauges and speedometer need to be replaced. - previous rebuild on original 216 engine- previous rebuild on original 3 on the tree tranny- new wiring with 12 volt conversion- fresh carb rebuild- refurbished original radiator- all new fuel lines - new fuel pump- gas tank cleaned and resealed- all new brake lines- complete rebuild of front brakes- all new exhaust from manifold back- all new glass and rubber- new chrome grill- new wood bed- lights and horns work- has a stereo in the glove box- new bench seat- like new door panels and headliner- excellent uncut dash with nice paint I have a tailgate and side splash aprons which will be included in sale if Buy It Now is used. This truck can be a daily driver as it sits or can be restored, its a great example of an original 49' truck that we want to restore very badly but since its a solid running and driving truck and we are so busy here at the shop I figured we could pass it along to someone.
