Vehicle Detail
I purchased this vehicle as a certified used vehicle, with 30,000 miles, in 2004. I have been the only owner since then. An APR Enhanced Modular Chipping System (EMCS), which includes a stock mode (225 HP), and a 93-octane chipped mode (265 HP), selectable via the cruise control SET button, was installed in 2005. Gas mileage is 28 mpg highway in stock mode, and 29 mpg highway in chipped mode. Vehicle currently has 118,546 miles. Timing belt was replaced at 67,000 miles. In 2013, the following engine damage was discovered: No compression and hole in piston on cylinder 1, and low compression on cylinder 4. The vehicle is currently drivable but should not be driven, due to the risk of further engine damage. It should be towed to a garage for engine work. Engine could potentially be rebuilt. I have received estimates as low as $4000 for the engine work, assuming only one cylinder needs to be re-ringed (estimate includes labor cost). That cost also includes a timing belt service which would make sense during the engine rebuild. If the engine can't be rebuilt, then the estimate for an engine / turbocharger replacement, again including timing belt replacement, would be on the order of $6000 (estimate includes labor cost). A new clutch set would add $1000 to either estimate, if it was installed with the engine work. Extensive suspension work was completed at around 100,000 miles. Body of vehicle is in good shape. Normal wear in leather interior. Glove compartment door handle broken off, but door can still be opened and closed. 6-CD changer, AM/FM cassette stereo with Bose sound system all works well.
