Vehicle Detail

This is an actual 442, not a clone. The car was built in General Motor's Freemont, CA plant in late 1968. It remained in California from that point on until I purchased it in 2005. It was left in the desert at one point in its life with the engine and transmission stripped out. The owner I bought it from added the current 455 engine and TH400 transmission from a 1973 Cutlass. Since then I have rebuilt the engine and began restoration on the car. The engine is a 1973 Oldsmobile 455 that was bored .40 over. The short block was assembled by Kel's Machine Shop in Las Vegas, NV with custom made JE Pistons, Lunati cam and hydraulic lifters, Comp pushrods, Edelbrock timing chain, and brand new bearings and rings. The top end was assembled with Edelbrock Aluminum Heads, Performer Intake Manifold, and 650 CFM Performer Carb, as well as PRW Rockers, Hooker Headers, and Mondello Valve Covers. Vehicle comes with all the spec sheets from machining and assembly. The headers dump out just before the rear axle through Flowmaster mufflers. This gives the car a very deep and fantastic sounding rumble. Within the past couple weeks the bottom of the driver's side head has been dripping coolant while running. The transmission is a 1973 TH400 that was rebuilt in 2006. It also has a small leak that appears to be coming from the pan. The car originally had the gear selector on the steering column but since then has been relocated to the floor. It now has a B&M Megashifter and an added Super-duty cable. BFGoodrich Radial Tires purchased around 2006 but have very low miles. The brakes are drums in the rear and discs in the front with the pads replaced all the way around and the discs turned. The rims are reproduction from YearOne but the one on the spare is original for the car. Two of the Oldsmobile caps are missing from the rear rims. The interior was completely redone by a shop in Las Vegas: carpets, seats, panels, arm rests, luggage tray, headliner, and seat belts. The entire car has been rewired with the Painless Wiring Muscle Car harness. Vehicle will come with the wiring diagram for it. All lights work on the exterior and the instrument lights on the interior. Dome light, original fuel gauge, dummy lights, and clock do not work. Oil pressure, water temp, ammeter, voltmeter, and aftermarket fuel gauge added along with an aftermarket CD player. The paint on the exterior has several scratches and some surface rust on the panels behind the tires. The paint is beginning to fade but still retains a majority of its clear coat. There is a dent behind the passenger door. The roof had a hole in it that was professionally patched. This is where the primer is on the roof. See photos for details and please ask any questions before bidding. Vehicle is kept in a garage, was only in the snow for the pictures.
