Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1987 Porsche 924S, fully loaded automatic 2-door coupe with sunroof. Because it has been identified in a few places as a collectible car from the 1980s, I bought this car last year with the intent of just holding on to it and allowing it to increase in value. Unfortunately I will be moving to a condo with only one parking spot so I need to sell all of my 1980s collectible cars. I have always kept this car covered and it is in good condition. The underside is rust-free as far as I can tell (I took a few pictures of the underside for this auction) and the engine bay is clean, along with the interior. The tires are great. The title is clean and always has been, and I have the original documentation that came with the vehicle when it was originally bought new, along with all maintenance records. This is originally a Colorado car. The VIN on this car is WP0AA0923HN456871. The odometer reads 91,447 miles but my title says the miles are not actual. This car was running and driving when I got it, but I am guilty of going about 4 months without starting it up and now the battery is dead. The only work I have done to it is replacing the hood. In a couple of photos below, you might see the original hood leaning against the house. There was a small dent in the center of the original hood so I replaced it with a red hood from the exact same model (which is perfect), but the hood will need paint. There is an oil leak coming from the head gasket on the passenger side so it will need a new gasket if you intend to drive it and don't want to keep filling it with oil. The stereo needs a new relay to play. I have the relay and am including it with the sale. There is a spot of rust on the bottom of the front passenger side panel - I have included a photo of this. The new hood I installed is off alignment by less than half an inch so it does not completely close because the spring is missing the hole by just a little. There is a small dent at the front of the driver's side fender above the turning light. (you can see this in the photos) And finally, there are a couple of small cracks in the plastic of the dashboard. I should also mention that the black area running around the front of the car is not a bra. It is something that will peel off that the previous owner put on. I was not going to peel it off until I was going to have the car painted, so I am leaving it on. That is everything I can find that keeps the car from being in excellent condition. I have honestly identified everything above that I can find that you will need to do to this car. You are buying the car as-is with no warranties expressed or implied. A good detailed article was done on this car by Hemmings Daily ( link here ) and thesportscarguys.com identified it an article titled "10 Porsches To Buy Now, Before They Are Out Of Reach". A 2012 article in Bold Ride listed this car as the #4 classic car of the 1980s to own. I am starting this auction at only $1 with no reserve. I do not have time to re-list cars so please do not bid unless you intend to pay. I require payment immediately following the end of the auction, and I will accept any means of payment. I am happy to hold the car while you arrange a pickup with a shipping carrier. If I see that you have insufficient feedback, I will cancel your bid.
