Total 1999 production was 33,270 but the Bowling Green facility built just 4,031 hardtops that year. Only 6,121 were made during the short, 2-season model run and Chevy literature at the time suggested future collectability was certain . . . Although that frontend looks great with Kendal on it, the overall condition of the front nose is fantastic. The modified HID Projector headlamps and the clear side markers really look great too, and they are not cheap either. They set you back almost a grand if they weren't in there already. When you first look at this FRC, you'd think it looks quite stock. Then you see the slotted brakes rotors and the car sits about an inch lower than usual. Open the hood and again it looks quite stock...but when you put this FRC up on a lift, you see quite a different story. Now it's time to get excited. She looks stock but she's not and the modification are the same that you'd like to have if you owned the car, but you won't need to spend the big coin to get them. The only recommendation I would make for the car is this. New tires. I believe the previous owner removed aftermarket wheels and tires because these look original and the tires are older, not cracked and plenty of tread still but older tires. Could you drive anywhere on these? I am sure you could without any safety issue but if it were me, I like brand new tires. Why don't I have them on the car already? Because most of my buyers have their own favorite brand and they moght also upgrade to an aftermarket wheel too. The tires on the car are safe and have more than enough tread, they're just old.
