***** NO RESERVE***** PAT’S PERFECT PICKUP Cleanest VW SingleCab Pickup Truck in the Western Hemisphere I am offering the nicest, prettiest, most correct VW Single Cab most people have ever seen. That is what every VW enthusiast says when they see it, including the writers for VW Magazines. This truck, which never had a single dent or any rust, ever (it even had perfect gates!) was located as the Ultimate Restoration Candidate in 1994 in Southern California, and taken to Jacksonville, Florida. In 1997, my good friend Pat Callihan began and completed the most incredible, accurate restoration of any vehicle I have ever seen. This truck is beautiful beyond belief. It is impossible to compete with at VW shows,having won Best Type II, Best Paint, Best Engine, etc., some multiple times. When I first saw it, this VW looked like it had rolled out of the factory fifteen minutes earlier. The attention to detail is truly amazing. This 1965 Singlecab is well known in VW circles. This L-512 Velvet Green (factory VW color) beauty was featured on the Cover of the December 2001 VW Trends Magazine. The truck dominates the entire cover (see pictures) and the article was written by Dave Cormack. He titled the Article “Pat’s Perfect Pickup”, and for very good reason. When Dave saw this incredible Singlecab in November, 2000 at the Florida Bug Jam, he said “ the closer I got, the better it looked”. He noticed the incredible straightnessof the truck, then noted that “all of the outside details were in place and correct, and then I looked underneath the truck. Whoa! This truck was brand new!” Later in the article, he refers to it as a “Perfect Pickup”, multiple times. He also noted that “every time Pat drives this Transporter to a show in the Florida area, he comes home with an award”. And“if you are restoring a Transporter, this is one to model your Restoration after. It’s really that nice.” I bought the truck from my friend Pat about ten years ago, and everything that Dave Cormack said was perfectly accurate. I am a very amateur photographer, so I did my best with the photos. The same incredible Velvet Green paint was applied perfectly in the bed, the entire interior, the “Treasure Chest” cargo area, and all underneath the truck. The paint will mesmerize you. Notice the reflections of everything around the truck in all the paint. The truck runs as good as it looks. Everything works perfectly. It comes complete with the Factory VW “Tilt” Canvas Cover, Metal Hoops and all Hardware, as pictured in the Article. This is an impossible find. A rust-free, never-wrecked Single Cab with perfect gates which has been restored by the best crew on the East Coast. If you want the Best-of-the-Best, this is it. You can drive it anywhere, or blow the “competition” away at any show. I am including three beautiful copies of the December, 2001 “VW Trends” Magazine with the Single Cab.
