Vehicle Detail
1964 IMPALA 2dr HARDTOP Older Restoration that has only been driven for Cruises and Carshows since its completion less than 8000 miles ago. This has always been a local car and is not a rust bucket redo!!! 327 V8 that has less than 8000 miles on it Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission Upgrade that shifts perfectly, The engine starts easily, runs smoothly, and all the mechanical aspects are road ready. The chrome and stainless are very very nice The BODY has not been modified The BODY is rust Free -- it will pass the magnet test all the way around. I have a video of magnet testing the car. The GLASS is all Great All the rubber seals around the doors and trunk are very good. The Tires are relatively new as are the Alloy Wheels. and BATTERY. The Interior was completely reupholstered and carpeted. The only modification is the EXTRA IMPALA LOGOS on the DOOR PANELS, A high gloss Wooden steering wheel, and the 3 gauge cluster under the dash. THE trunk was over detailed for CAR SHOW displays as can be seen in the pictures. The car still has the dealer installed under dash a/c unit from the 1960's. THE STANCE , RIDE and DRIVE, is as good as you will find in a mid 60's midsize car. The Doors shut like new, VERY TIGHT and SOLID Car. The brakes are drum and do operate well POWER STEERING is good and this car will drive and steer like new. AT 80MPH on The INTERSTATE I have driven this car with one finger steering, no shimmeys, no pulling, no rattles, this car was well done for the purpose of highway cruising. IT IS NOT A HOD ROT, I took it on two different 200 mile jaunts right after trading for it. THE BAD POINTS!!! drum brakes they are good but just not modern. the paint--- FROM THE body side chrome up this car deserves a new paint job. IT is single stage paint and the top and decklid have been wet sanded by a local detail shop and they cut it too hard. The hood was not sanded on but in my opinion the hood deserves a better finish too. This was MY MISTAKE, when I traded for this the paint looked dim under the shop lights, i thought it would improve the finish to wet sand and buff the upper sections. The local RESTORATION guy I trust bid a job to repaint the upper sections, complete paint strip to the metal, new primer so as no etching later and then a two stage clear coat. Either in white or a two tone if desired. HIS BID to me for this was $1800. With that done this car would be a real show piece. IT HAS A CLEAR CLEAN TITLE!!!
