You are looking at a 1987 Volkswagon VW Cabriolet Red - For Repair, Parts, Restoration. The car is not really drivable right now (see rest of description). The only rust I could find was on the bottom of the two front quarter panels. The car has had moisture in it and I did not look under the carpet but the floor feels solid with no holes. There are holes in the roof (I have a replacement top I purchased off ebay and the cover for the top when it is down which is OEM). The top leaks quite a bit and has since I bought it but the holes in the back have gotten bigger. MY husband and I are selling this because it needs some work. Where to begin.... We bought this car 3 years ago in hopes of restoring it. It has been dependable and been a good car for us. Recently when starting it on cold or wet mornings it took a while to start up so I bought a new battery and it seemed to help for a few days. Today I tried maybe 10 time to turn it over and it did not start, I did not want to kill the new battery. Last week when driving to work the car started to smoke profusely. It was a light blue smoke, and when I mean smoke, I am not talking about a little but a lot! I pulled over and turned the car off, after a few seconds I started it back up and no smoke. A few days later on the way to work it did this same thing but this time it did it more than once. THe smoke was so bad I could not see out the back window. I got the car home and put it in the garage. THe only work I did to it were brakes, tires, tune up, and oil changes. The interior is not in good condition either, there are rips in the seats, the front passenger seat does not slide forward or back but they do tilt. The stereo works but stays on when key is not in so I don't know if it is wired right. The E-Brake does not work. The rims are the original OEM VW wheels, and front tires are crap. Back tires are good. Windshield wipers and lights work. AC does not work, heater only works on defrost as I can't move the selector. Gauges all work, but when super cold speedometer makes a funny sound. IT works and sounds fine when above 20 degrees F. This car could be fixed by someone who knows what they are doing or for parts.
