Vehicle Detail
You can buy this car site unseen... I have over 85 photos and will be happy to send a video as well to anyone with serious interest... You are looking at one of the most beautiful Mopar’s I have ever seen. This was my father's car in his 7 car collection. He has passed and we are selling 3 of his cars. His records unbelievable. You couldn't have anymore documents for a car... LOL.. This 1970 Dodge Charger is equipped with a 383 Big Block V8 and a pistol grip 4-speed manual transmission. This is not a numbers matching car. However, it is restored to exact factory specifications. It is a factory big block 383 V8, D21 - 4-speed, B5 Blue car.The previous owner that the 383 engine currently in the vehicle was a factory replacement block. There is no number stamp on the block, which is consistent on factory replacement engines, but there was no documentation to truly verify. Transmission appears to be period correct, but not the original. The restoration began in 2008. A professional body shop owner purchased the car for himself and to work on as his shop was slow. He completed all of the body work and painted the car. He installed new rear quarters and a trunk pan - not aftermarket junk - original parts. Rotisserie restored with a great attention to detail. New paint was applied, using correct B5 Blue color base coat/clear coat, with multiple coats of clear! As you can see from the pictures, he applied the paint and clear to the undercarriage as well! Unfortunately, being form the Detroit Michigan area, work slowed by 2009 and he had to sell the car. A friend, who was an ASE Certified Master Mechanic at a Ford Lincoln-Mercury Dealer, purchased the car and spent the next 2 years assembling and completing the Rotisserie Restoration. During this time he spent hours meticulously restoring the car back to an original look, with all new parts and technology. EVERYTHING NEW! New power brakes, power steering, PST Suspension, shocks, fuel lines, brake lines, hoses, period correct battery, stainless steel exhaust, painless wiring, fuel tank, 14” B.F. Goodrich raised white letter tires w/Mopar wheels, stainless bolts and hardware, and MORE! A new interior was installed from Legendary Auto Interiors. This included all new seat covers – front and back, with all new foam padding, headliner, carpet, dash, new hardware for the center console, and new Hurst pistol grip shifter. All of the interior gauges were rebuilt and work great except for the clock. All lights work great; headlights, tail lights – interior and exterior, brakes, blinkers, etc. Engine was rebuilt to stock specs and bored .30 over, transmission was also rebuilt and a new vinyl top was installed. All chrome was either re-chromed or new, and all stainless was detailed and polished. 1970 DODGE CHARGER • 383 BIG BLOCK V8 - REBUILT .30 OVER AND STOCK SPECIFICATIONS • D21 – 4-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION W/PISTOL GRIP SHIFTER – REBUILT 2011 • 8 3/4 REAR END, 3.55 GEAR RATIO • 2 YEAR ROTISSERIE RESTORATION, COMPLETER SPRING 2011 • EVERYTHING NEW, REBUILT, OR RE-CHROMED • NEW CORRECT COMPLETE INTERIOR FROM LEGENDARY AUTO INTERIORS • NEW HEADLINER, SEAT COVERS AND PADS, CARPET • ALL NEW PST SUSPENSION PARTS, SHOCKS, ETC. • ALL NEW BRAKES, HOSES, LINES, FUEL TANK, ETC. • PAINTED AND CLEAR COATED UNDERCARRIAGE AND FRAME • NEW REAR QUARTER PANELS, NEW TRUNK, ORIGINAL FLOORS • CORRECT B5 BLUE PAINT, PPG BASE COAT CLEAR COAT • RESTORED TO FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS • THIS CAR IS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO DRIVE. • RIDES, DRIVES, AND HANDLES LIKE A BRAND NEW CAR • RESTORED BY A FORD LINCOLN ASE CERTIFIED MASTER MECHANIC • 500 MILES ON COMPLETE RESTORATION Overall, this is one incredible Charger! The paint is brilliant and the undercarriage – there are just no words. Currently, there is only about 500 miles on this fantastic restoration. I have driven the car all of those miles. This is without a doubt, the most quiet, tightest, smoothest ride I have ever seen in a classic car. There are NO annoying rattles, noises, shakes, vibrations, etc. It is like being behind the wheel with the ride of and feel of a 2014 Charger! The handling is absolutely amazing! The big block has exhilarating horsepower !!Thanks,Chris On Nov-30-14 at 17:51:41 PST, seller added the following information:
