This suburban is being sold for it's low mileage engine (55,000 miles), recently rebuilt transmission (17,000 miles), and all of the beautifully intact upholstery and interior. We are the original owners of this diesel suburban, which has been owned by the family for over 20 years. The old engine was very reliable for over 260,000 miles. We paid $5000 for a new engine on 12/2006, and that was at the odometer reading of 262,034, which was about 55,000 miles ago. The other most valuable part of the suburban is the newly rebuilt transmission. It was replaced at 302,389 miles, so it has approx. only 17,000 miles on it. Otherwise there are countless other parts and the interior upholstery and such that are useful replacement parts. The suburban itself does run and can be driven away, but the suburban did not pass inspection this year. Just this year the suburban did not pass inspection, due to body rust and a body bolt that rusted out. The body of the suburban is the issue (see photos). There is an extensive amount of the body work that would need to be done in order to get it to pass inspection, but I'm not a mechanic, just a Suburban lover. If you are looking for a new engine for your suburban, transmission, or one of the many parts available, you can get a slightly used one and put the engine in the Suburban you already have for a much cheaper price than buying a new engine. Some neat things about this vehicle: This suburban is a 9 seater! It has has an after-market front seat that converted it to three seats, two with headrests, up front. The front row of seats was also replaced a few years back and are almost brand new. The interior upholstery is in very good condition. This suburban also has front and rear A/C (which needs some work get running again). It also has cruise control, and a really neat rear tailgate that flips down. The vehicle is being sold in "as is" condition. We do not ship, so buyer must come pick it up. Also, car needs at least 2 new tires; one has a crack and the other a slow leak. 2) As I said in the description above, this car is mainly being sold for the newly replaced engine and transmission. But as some bidders are interested in knowing what other work needs to be done (other than with the rusted out body), I'll list some other things that can be repaired below: a) it needs outer tie rod endsb) front and rear A/C needs the annual freon rechargec) cruise control probably needs rewiring Note: these are from things my mechanic has told me in the past. I am not a mechanic, and this is what I know to the best of my knowledge. 3) In the original description I said the front seats were replaced; I meant to say they were reupholstered. They look so new I forgot. 4) Transmission is a 4-speed automatic, and it has overdrive.
