Vehicle Detail
This 1972 Cadillac Superior Fleetwood Limousine belonged to the Late John R. Keel of Freeland Michigan, USA. He affectionately named each of his cars, he named this limousine "Mona". This car definitely has some history and a story connected to it. After the young 18 year old John R. Keel passed away suddenly in December of 2002, Car And Driver Magazine wrote a 6 page article about him and his love for cars. You can read about John and his car collection of 4 cars, including Mona in the May 2004 Car And Driver Article entitled "The Boy Who Loved Hearses". This article sparked interest from many movie companies, one was Film 101 Productions, they made a documentary about John also entitled "The Boy Who Loves Hearses". Mona is a cool car! She was the first professional car purchased by John R. Keel in the spring of 2002. John found this car advertised in the Saginaw Michigan Newspaper, he went and looked at it, it started up and ran great so he bought it and drove it home! John drove Mona around Mid-Michigan a lot in the spring/summer of 2002. The car was in good shape until he warmed it up in the LaPorte Michigan Cemetery after getting home from the 2002 Professional Car Society Grand Rapids meet; that's where it all went wrong ... he was going to fast around a curve when a deer ran out in front of him and he swerved going over some bushes, the car became air born and he actually flew the car in the air about 40 feet and when it landed it was wedged in between a row of headstones ... you can read about this incident in the May 2004 Car And Driver magazine article entitled "The Boy Who Loved Hearses". John really wanted to restore Mona to her former glory .... so we started repairing the car and buying parts for this car to get it restored: there is a new front bumper that we paid $300.00 for, a new front grill, 4 new Cadillac wheel covers, some trim pieces, etc. We got a new radiator that cost $400.00, a new front wheel axel, there was some work done to the rear end. There is over a 100,000 miles on the engine. The family of John R. Keel is no longer able to keep this car so we are looking for a new home for Mona. This car will need some attention to restore it, but most of what you'll need is there to do it ... we really hope someone can get this car restored to her former glory! Or if not, then it could be used for parts car I suppose. This car is being sold in "As In Condition" with No Warranty. Buyer is responsible for Shipping Arrangements, the car is located in Freeland, Michigan USA.
