NC residentsIn addition to the sale price, North Carolina residents are also responsible for: NC Highway Use Tax which is 3% of the vehicle's sale price; License and title fee of $73.00; Auto Focus documentation fee of $250. NC residents must have a valid NC drivers license and must have at least liability insurance coverage on the purchased vehicle before it can leave the Auto Focus lot. Auto Focus will complete all title work for NC residents.2.Out of state buyersAll buyers who take personal delivery, and drive their vehicle from the Auto Focus lot must have at least liability coverage insurance on the vehicle purachased as this is a requirement in NC. The title and registration process and associated costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. We provide airport pick up from GSO at no charge. 3. Deposit and final paymentA deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours of sale. Payment in full is required before a sold vehicle can be released. Vehicles can be paid for in cash, by certified funds, by personal check, once cleared, and by loan check. Auto Focus must be notified within 36 hours of sale as to how the vehicle will be paid for. An important note about the deposit: We try very hard to accurately represent our vehicles. If you are the winning bidder, or agree to purchase a vehicle and are dissatisfied with the condition of the vehicle once you arrive, we will return your deposit. If you simply change your mind, or fail to even come look at the vehicle you have agreed to buy, your $500 deposit will not be refunded. 4. 1985 VW Vanagon - 1.9L water cooled four cylinder engine; 4 speed manual transmission. This Vanagon is a base/commercial model. It is equipped with a bench front seat, vinyl interior, no a/c and no power steering. It has less features than a standard US 1985 model, but also has less to go wrong. Options include the rear wiper and trailer hitch and fog lights.

We purchased this bus in Seattle and had it shipped here. It was donated to charity after the last owner was told by the VW dealer that it needed an engine. As it turns out, the engine was still good - now it does have quite a few miles on it and won't last forever but it wasn't dead or bad enough to justify getting rid of the van. We got it started in minutes and had it running great again in just a few hours. The fuel gauge had failed, the tank was empty and the fuel pump was all but burned up. So with fresh gas, some new hoses, a new pump & filter, oil change, and new spark plugs this bus was on the road again. We drove it for a few weeks to be sure it was going to hang in there. The next round of service included new LT rated 195R14C tires, new front pads & rotors, wiper blades and so forth. Round three was all cosmetic - the driver seat was completely redone, all trim was removed and the bus got some body work and an all over paint job. It is clean and presentable, but there are still some dings, stone chips and general imperfections. This is not a show winner, but it is a solid & decent looking van. The fog lights were added here partly to enhance the look of the van, and also because more light is just better. The interior is mostly original, although there are a few modifications including - a cupholder for the driver, new modern stereo, new rubber front floor mats, a very cool Hella lamp above the sliding door (handy for camping) and carpet in the center area. Note that the middle seat was gone when we got the bus. We sent 6 Vanagons to the junk yard this summer, one of which had a middle bench that was a perfect match. It is included if you want it and is currently just sitting in the van not attached.

We have put about 500 miles on this van and had it since February. It has always started and been reliable so far. It has also been fun. We would have sold it sooner but encoutered a long delay in getting the title straight. Now it has a clear NC title in our name and is ready for a new owner.

It is a somewhat unique model for a Vanagon and a useful vehicle. It can certainly be enjoed just as it is, but would also make a good base for a camper conversion. It looks decent and runs & drives well and everything works. This bus has been reconditioned for sale, not restored. It does not come with a warranty. All buyers who take personal delivery, and drive their vehicle from the Auto Focus lot must have at least liability coverage insurance on the vehicle purachased as this is a requirement in NC. The title and registration process and associated costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. We provide airport pick up from GSO at no charge.

3. Deposit and final payment

A deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours of sale. Payment in full is required before a sold vehicle can be released. Vehicles can be paid for in cash, by certified funds, by personal check, once cleared, and by loan check. Auto Focus must be notified within 36 hours of sale as to how the vehicle will be paid for. An important note about the deposit: We try very hard to accurately represent our vehicles. If you are the winning bidder, or agree to purchase a vehicle and are dissatisfied with the condition of the vehicle once you arrive, we will return your deposit. If you simply change your mind, or fail to even come look at the vehicle you have agreed to buy, your $500 deposit will not be refunded.

4. Shipping

Shipping cost and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer.

5. Warranty

All vehicles sold by Auto Focus have been inspected and serviced by Foreign Accents, a Bosch Service Center in Greensboro, NC. All vehicles have a current NC inspection unless otherwise noted.

Vehicles sold by Auto Focus are sold AS-IS with no warranty unless there is factory warranty coverage remaining.

An aftermarket extended warranty plan by Easy Care is available at the buyers expense on some of our vehicles. Please contact us for more details and to see if the car you have chosen qualifies.
