Vehicle Detail

What a shame. This MK2 was somebody's excellent driver or survivor / show car when an arsonist, for some unknown reason, set fire to the rear seat cushion. The fire went out ( due to lack of oxygen ) when the doors were shut. However the rear seat, headliner and right hand rear door panel were destroyed. The backs of the front seats were heat damaged and there is smoke discoloration in other areas of the interior. Some of the paint was blistered on the roof and door as well. This car is totally rust free ( being from California ) and straight as an arrow. There are no dents or rust. The paint is a very good older re-spray. The left hand front fender may have been repaired at one time since some of the paint on top is checkered. None of the exterior rubber, chrome or glass shows any overspray. The chrome wire wheels have 75% on better Michelin red line tires. We bought this car in late August 1993 from Sacramento salvage auction. It had been in California its whole life as indicated by J67 in front of the VIN # P181277. We stored it inside and only last month got it running again. We installed a new battery, fuel pump and brake master cylinder. We also rebuilt the clutch master and put in a new slave cylinder. The car runs and moves under its own power. However, the flexible sections of the exhaust down pipes leak and the front brake calipers seem to stick. This is still a nice engine number matching MK2 which could be restored and does not need a total rebuild. The car needs brake and exhaust work but most other mechanical systems seem to work including gauges and switches. It will drive onto a transport truck. We are a licensed Washington State Auto Dismantler. The buyer of this car will receive an Auto Wreckers Bill of Sale. See pictures of this document at end of auction. Reverse shows titling procedures. We will also furnish a copy of the California Salvage Certificate we got when we bought it. ( The original document was sent into the state of Washington with our monthly wrecker report ). This is a true no reserve auction. High bidder gets the car. We will not sell it before the auction ends. It is the buyers responsibility to pick up the car. We will help with loading. If you are an international buyer make sure the Bill of Sale we are supplying is adequate for Customs. Also make sure you know the shipping cost. Do not bid if you are uncertain. As the auction terms state: We need a $500.00 deposit through Paypal within 24 hours of auction ending. You will have three days to complete payment. If you have zero feedbacks, multiple bid retractions, or you failed to complete a sale after being the winning bidder, contact us before bidding or your bid may be rejected. We had a bad experience with "zero feedback" who bid up well qualified buyers and then re-niged on the sale, requiring us to re-list the item.
