Summary: 2006 Porsche Cayman S, 66379 miles, 6-speed manual, Guards Red over black, 19” Sport Design wheels, Sport Chrono, PASM, Bose, Bi-xenon lights, beautiful inside and out, full 60k service completed, 2-owner, former CPO car. In the following paragraphs I will describe this Cayman S in excruciating detail, including flaws. Options (Have COA and window sticker): Wheel caps with colored crest Power seat package Heated seats Automatic climate control Floor mats interior color 19” Sport Design Wheel Sport Chrono w/o PSM Self dimming mirrors and rain sensor Preferred package plus PASM Bose Surround Sound Remote CD changer Bi-xenon headlamps Exterior: As you can see from the photos, this Cayman S is stunning in Guards Red with moderately tinted windows and the 19” Sport Design wheels. No signs of any paintwork, and the Carfax is clean. A clear bra covers the front bumper, forward half of the hood, leading edges of the front fenders, rear fender flares, and the forward facing portions of the mirrors, so the car is nearly free of rock chips. Paint is simply fantastic, after a polish with Pinnacle XMT and a Zaino wax it is deep, glossy, and nearly flawless. No dents, dings, scratches, etc. It is a fantastic looking car. Interior: Similarly fantastic to the exterior, the black interior is nearly flawless. The driver’s seat shows almost no wear, while the passenger seat looks new. No stains, scratches, or otherwise flaws in the leather, carpet, or plastic. Floor mats are excellent with only slight heel wear on the driver’s side. Even the soft touch finish is nearly perfect, there are only a few very light marks near the driver’s side door handle and by the shifter. Shift knob and e-brake handle are nearly perfect. The climate control and radio knobs have been professionally refinished by “Sticky No More”, taking care of a common 987 wear item. Well equipped with power windows, locks, power heated memory seats, power heated mirrors, Homelink, automatic climate control, rain sensing wipers, Sport Chrono lap timer, and Bose audio. Every power feature works exactly as it should. I’ve owned multiple 987/997 generation Porsches, this is as nice as they come. Mechanical: I have completed the 60k service on this car, it will essentially need nothing for the next 20k. Within the last month it has received a synthetic oil and filter change, coolant flush, new serpentine belt, spark plugs, air filter, pollen filter, brake fluid flush/bleed, and new wiper blades. In addition I have replaced one ignition coil that had a superficial crack, found while changing the spark plugs. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S rear and Bridgestone Potenza RE760AS front, both have greater than 50% tread and recent date codes. Mechanical condition is excellent, at this point the car needs nothing. The engine runs smoothly and strong with no leaks, warning lights, or smoke. Transmission shifts smooth up and down through the gears, no grinding or noise. Suspension is tight without any vibration or noise, the PASM changes modes and makes a noticeable difference in the ride and handling. Steering is tight, no vibration or pulling. Brakes are strong with a nice stiff pedal, no vibration or pulling on braking. Sport mode engages and makes the throttle more responsive, increases the steering effort, and puts the PASM dampers in sport mode. I drove this car over 500 miles on a road trip and it was flawless, I would drive it anywhere without concern. Flaws: While this Cayman is very very nice, as with any used car it is not perfect. Unlike most I believe in full and honest disclosure, I expect my cars to be exactly as described. I have provided cars to enthusiasts around the country and never had a disappointed buyer. Flaws are as follows: one small rock chip on the RH intake vent, a few light scratches on the right front wheel. A few very light marks in the soft touch finish by the shift boot and near the driver’s door handle. A few light rock chips on the few front end parts not protected by the clear bra, primarily low on the front bumper. So in summary this Cayman S is nearly flawless inside and out, has very desirable options, is fully up to date on maintenance, and needs nothing but a new home.
