Vehicle Detail
OFFERED AT NO RESERVE! Hi folks, Up for grabs is a beautiful well maintained 560 SEL, the flagship Benz. Many, including myself, consider this the ultimate S-class Mercedes built. It gets looks and thumbs up when driven, which is occasionally, and always brings a smile to my face. You will be hard pressed to find one of similar caliber. First purchased in February 1992, it is probably one of the last of the 91's sold. It has been garage kept and it shows - the paint has a glass-like finish to it, the dash and seats have no cracks, the instrument dials are bright orange and the rear taillights are not yellowed. Originally purchased by an older restauranteur who drove it sparingly, the car was then bought by the family of a Mercedes dealer in 2002 with 32k miles, where it stayed till I purchased it from its 80 year old caretaker. I have all the books that came with the car and some service records. It has a stamped service book to 60 k miles. MECHANICAL: The 5.6L powerplant is smooth and powerful. Oil pressure is good. Shifts are precise. - It tracks straight down the road and cruises quietly and effortlessly at 75 Mph. - Steering feels solid with very little to no play. It does not wander on the highway. - No wierd noises or rattles from the front end, which feels tight. - Brakes are responsive - No Oil leaks - AC blows cold (Recent Ac compressor and dryer) Car has benefitted from routine maintenance. Many wear and tear items have been replaced. Following are a list of the most recent items - Wheel bearings were replaced last year. - Heater Monovalve replaced - Drive belts and tune-up - New Battery. - Spark plugs, Cap and rotors. - New tires in early 2014 - Recent brake pads - May benefit from front shocks down the road. A new set of Bilsteins are included. INTERIOR: The Mushroom leather interior is in great shape and the leather is still supple. No cracks or rips in the seats. Bosters are in great shape. - The bright orange instrument dials are truly amazing - it doesn't have the faded yellow look that most of these have of this era - this alone is worth the price of admission. - The dask has no cracks. - The wood is in great shape. - Original Becker casette deck - Carpets and headliner are in very good shape. - SMOKE and pet Free - Power seats work fine. - Has the original first aid kit. - Rear window regulators fixed. - Door seals replaced EXTERIOR: The beautiful Black paint is in excellent shape. It was just treated to a professional wet sand and polish and the results are striking. The finish is mirror-like and there is no paint fade anywhere. - Rust free with no flood issues. - Wheels are in great shape. - No cracks in the windshield. - There are a few blemishes on the bumpers and a couple ofsmall door dings. In summary, given the condition of the car, this car will continue to appreciate in value. This is a solid driver that you can stare at in amazement. These cars are getting rarer in good shape. Be realistic in your expectations and you will not be disappointed. I reserve the right to end the auction early for a favorable offer.
