This is a 1991 Mercedes-Benz SL 300 that is a great car but needs some work, CAR CRANKS BUT WILL NOT RUN, a no spark condition has been traced out to a possible faulty ignition module that is bolted on the upper left side of the inner fender well under the hood. I have seen used modules on line from 65.00 to 150.00 dollars and reman ones from 350.00 to 550.00 depending on manufacture. This was a part time car for us and my son used the car to go back and forth to High School 4 miles a day for two years, now in college and we don't need this car anymore. We went out recently to use the car and it wouldn't start. Car ran smooth and quite, when running, and trans shifted perfect. AC blows ice cold, and convertible top and roll bar work perfectly. We use the soft top in the winter when the weather is cooler and a lot less rain. The soft top has no rips and tears and is in good condition, and there are no water leaks that we are aware of. Other items in need of work that I am aware of, the power locking system is inoperative, don't know why, front headlight wiper system not working, front upper switch housing needs replacement, all power seats working great except headrest motors working slow and sometimes stop working. The car was painted and new front AMG bumper put on 2 years ago, so no dings scratches, or inperfections to take pictures of. The car shows very nice. Drivers seat needs work as shown in pic, about 150.00 from my local interior shop, but rest of interior shows clean and nice for its age, trunk looks brand new never used. There is a small oil leak coming from the upper half of the timing cover, there are 2 cam seals, and a "U" shape seal at a cost of about 50.00 dollars and 3 hours time . It never leaked enough for me to worry about it. Tires and brakes are in great shape and car had a full tune-up just last year. This will make a very nice car for some one who doesn't mind putting in the wrench time. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION, so if you cant pay at the end or cannot pick up the car please don't waste my time and bid, if this car doesn't sell the stereo system will with speakers will be stripped, tires and wheels will be stripped, MTP 93 Interstate batt will be removed and resold, and the hard top which is worth about 500.00 dollars will come off and car will be scrapped at my local dealer for 500.00. I have done all the homework and the car is worth more broken up then together so bid accordingly and get the whole car.
