Vehicle Detail
I bought this car a couple of years ago. It still had the original paint, black with a silver top. I own two other nice classics and was looking for a project car to try my luck at restoring a vehicle myself. This car fit the bill, since it was a no rust, well kept example. I never intended to keep this vehicle and I am only trying to recoup the investment for parts. You are going to get a solid car for the lowest reserve I can muster...Actually setting reserve below what I have in it. I had ups and downs fixing her up, but in the end, it turned out very nice and I learned a lot, which is leave the resto. to the pros with the proper tools and knowledge. Hers a list of what you get. No rust top or bottom. Removed old paint to metal and primed then shot with Hot rod black satin with a Very shiny Chrysler silver top. No filler had to be used...What few imperfections were knocked back out. Original 235 blue flame engine. Runs very good, starts very good. Actually very nice at around 65 on the interstate. All glass in very good shape, all windows roll up and down with ease, and side vent window roll in and out perfectly. All lights work, Turn signals work, as well as brake lights. The dash clock still works. Radio delete, but have a nice unit installed under the dash. All rubber is original and in very good shape, windshield and back glass have no leaks that I have seen. All gauges work except the fuel. I have a after market gauge installed under the dash that is accurate. The fuel gauge worked when I bought the car and recently went out. I am trying to find one now, and possible that it could be fixed by the time the car sells. These cars were, so I am told, bad about the shifter locking up sometimes while shifting...Its a manual shift on the column, and I spent 3 days adjusting all linkage because I had it lock on me...It now will shift with 2 fingers and will not cause a problem any more, or has not for over an year and a half now. My wife even drivers her and she loves it. New, correct interior, New coker white walls, new gas tank, professional installed brakes, wheel bearings, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, clutch, all 2 months old, has 12 volt conversion, new battery, one week old, new shocks added before I bought it, and trunk is in excellent shape. Did nothing under the hood, will leave up to new owner to update with a v-8 or make her original equipment shine. Over all, new owner is getting a very nice , dependable, cool, classic car for the money. I drive it everywhere, and show attendees think she turned out great. They all like the rat rod look it now possesses. I have the original breather and hub caps.
