Life changes dictate sale of family Tahoe… I’m the second owner of this 2005 Tahoe which has been a fantastic rig for us (family of 4). Clean Carfax with no accidents and no damage history. Power windows, self dimming mirror with compass and temp display, leather, power driver’s seat, both keys, remotes, and books. It has the smaller 4.8L V8 as opposed to the larger 5.3, and after having experience with both, I can’t say enough about this engine. This is the engine you want because it gets MUCH better fuel mileage than the bigger one and you really can’t tell a difference in power (it’s actually almost more “peppy”). There is good reason why so many still roam the road. 250,000 miles are commonly seen on these trucks. It currently has 117K miles, has been maintained regularly by Gateway Tire in Ridgeland, MS and is in very good condition for its age and mileage. There are some scratches here and there, cracks on a couple of light lenses, missing interior door reflectors, and the tint on the windows have some scratching due to a botched cleaning job. Otherwise, everything works. Tires are less than a year old with maybe 5/6K miles on them; water pump and steering shaft have also been changed within a year. I said everything works, but that’s not entirely true; the fog lights need lenses and bulbs, and the gas gauge is not accurate toward the last ¼ tank (never has been). I have become so use to this I forgot. I just fill up, reset the mileage, and run it for 325 miles.
