Vehicle Detail

You're looking at a 1992 Range Rover County Edition. As with most SWB Range Rovers, this one is a 3.9 v8 automatic with fulltime 4WD and hi/lo range transfer box. It has just under 140k miles on it, and has an Oregon title. The title was previously branded in California - the car was stolen and recovered some time in the early 1990s when it was worth an awful lot more...! The car is finished in Westminster Grey, which isn't a common colour - it's aged pretty well. The fact that it's a County Edition gets you fancier power seats, an expanse of dash wood, a fancy stereo system with a subwoofer in the back, and a couple of other things. It runs, drives, starts, and stops just fine. It has a couple of minor issues (see below), but - until I found a newer LWB model - I'd planned to keep this as my winter daily driver. I've had many Range Rovers over the years, and (touch wood) I've yet to have one leave me stranded. So let's move on to the fun stuff. Recent work includes: Replacement headliner (foam removed, surface texture-painted - no more cloth to sag!)New heater core (this is a huge job; the original core had cracked at the plastic end pipes and had been bypassed)New radiator and a whole bunch of hoses A/C system gone over, O-rings replaced, system retrofitted / charged with r134a (yes, the factory A/C does work)New battery earlier in 2014New plugs, wires, IAC valveReplaced two electric window motorsNewer NRP cat-back exhaust systemNearly-new tires + spare ...and the following is good news: All seats are in excellent condition. No rips, tears, etc.Heater and A/C work well.NO RUST anywhere, not even on the tailgateNo fault lights. ABS works, transfer case shifts between hi/lo as it should.Sunroof a) opens and closes, and b) doesn't leakPower locks, power seats, power mirrors, power windows all workFactory stereo and CD changer work just fine ...and the remaining problems: The clearcoat has faded on the hood (see pics) and passengers' doorThe exhaust has a leak somewhere on the left sideSpeaking of leaks - the car doesn't leak oil anywhere (yes, really), but it does have a steering fluid leak. I have to top it off roughly once a month.Ignition lock is worn - there's definitely a "trick" to turning the key.Wood veneer on the shifter surround is cracked I have no real need for three Range Rovers, so this one has to go. It would be a great offroader, or would make an equally excellent safe winter car. Standard stuff: car is offered as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. I've tried to describe the car critically and honestly, but I may miss things - for this reason, please ask any and all questions before bidding. Inspection more than welcome. You are bidding to buy, not to kick tires. Deposit within two days of auction end; the balance in cash or cashiers' check at pickup within seven days. I'm happy to assist with storage or shipping if required.
