Vehicle Detail
I bought this car about a year ago with plans to do some minor repairs and make it a daily driver. I did some minor work to it but found out a few weeks after I got her home that I am getting sent overseas for a few years. I can't take the Vette with me and I don't want to have it sit for so long because I am afraid of rats and other classic car killers. The car is in good overall condition but it is not perfect. This car is in the Mojave Desert so there is little to no rust. The frame is solid and the fiberglass body shows no signs of bubbling or peeling. The paint is not quite as good as the pictures show. There are surface scratches over the whole car that need to be buffed out and there are a few chips across the front clip and one on the rear clip. The front and rear clips are from an eighties model and have been body molded so you don't see any seams. It gives the car a nice clean profile. The front air dam is missing. The previous owner bought one for a '76 and it will not work with the new front end. Floor pans are solid. The passenger side mirror needs new glass. The glue failed and the mirror fell out. It did not survive meeting the concrete. The tachometer does not work because someone cut the cable off but all of the other gauges function. I replaced most of the interior and exterior lights but a few of the interior light sockets need to be replaced. The headlights open and close properly and in unison so it doesn't look like it is winking at you. The power windows work but the are a little slow. Interior is original as is weather stripping so it is cracked and chipped. The drivers side sun visor is missing. It was torn up so I threw it away. The seats can be repaired but the weather stripping is in dire need of replacement. The car has been garage kept for at least the last five years and it almost never rains here so weather stripping was never a high priority. I do have a car cover for it that will go with the car. The engine is not original - it is a Target 350. The previous owner removed portions of the smog control but the smog pump itself is still attached but not connected. California requires all cars 1976 and up to pass smog. I planned to take the car back to Ohio where it is considered a classic and therefore exempt. The car does run and can drive but the carb is out of whack so the car dies when you shift it into gear. I intended to modify the car to run fuel injection but didn't bother after I found out I was leaving. With a little work this car can be a good car to just drive and enjoy. This car is for sale locally. Buyer is responsible for shipping or pick up. I can be available to help with loading and I will tinker with the carb to see if I can make it run properly but it may need to be pushed onto a trailer. I have the title in hand but it is registered as non op because of the emissions problem. On Oct-04-14 at 18:17:42 PDT, seller added the following information: **I have relisted this car due to non paying bidders. The reserve is probably lower than you think because I need this car out of my garage. The car is for sale locally but once the reserve is met I will reserve the car for the winning bidder**
