1985 R80RT BARN FIND Here's the story. In 2006 the man I brought it from got it from a long time friend, who hadn't rode the bike for years, the bike was taken to a BMW dealer in VA, where the following work was done; (I have the all the bills) New Clutch, Pressure Plate,Clutch Plate, Rebuild Carbs, Renew Fork Seals Renew Spark Plug Wire's New Plug's, All filter's Renew Front Master Cyl. Renew Fuel Petcock's Reline Fuel Tank New Brake's New Tire's Plus a bunch of small stuff. The bike was then ridden for 3 day's, put away, covered in a heated barn, and sat there till this year when I found it. I brought the bike home, cleaned the tank and petcocks, put a new battery (NAPA) in it, and it fired right up. This was in June of this year. I have rode it for around a 1500 mile's, with no problem's I have a brand new windshield (from Germany) that go's with it. The only thing it need's is the fuel tank could use new sealant, and for some reason the head light relay does not work, may just need to be replaced, I have switch from battery to the relay on it now, as you can see by the picture. I would ride this bike anywhere, it is one of the best airhead's I have owned, the only reason I'm letting it go is we are getting ready to move to another state, and I have 3 other bike's. I'm not sure of the mile's on it, it show's 4851, it's hung up, but with the mile's I have put on it, the oil still looks like new. I also have the key's for the bag's.The clock work's, but only with the key on, not sure what that is about,the "old guy" said something about the wiring, not sure what he meant.
