Vehicle Detail
1968 Triumph T120 Bonneville Hardtail Bobber Frame #: T120R DU78607 Engine #: T120R AE08418 Since the 1950s Triumphs have been the prime candidate for customization, and there is no better genre than the bobber. With chopped rear end for a hardtail, the bikes are nothing but low-slung style. The bike offered here is a superb example of the style. Starting with a straight and true 1968 Bonneville frame, with a bolt-on bobbed rear hardtail, a fully rebuilt Bonneville motor of January 1971 vintage was installed. Wiring was hidden in the frame and a fantastic bowling ball oil tank was added, together with slashed TT pipes, 21” wheel up front and 16” at the rear, shod with near-new whitewall tires, and those great handlebars! Paint is excellent on frame with only a couple of blemishes. Paint on oil and gas tank is unmarked and excellent. All chrome is excellent and the seat is unmarked. Mechanically, the bike is excellent. According to the last owner, Big D Cycles in Dallas went through a full mechanical re-commissioning and servicing of the bike. The engine is bright and clean with good, responsive power. It was upgraded to a Boyer electronic ignition, all electrical works well and the rear/only brake works as it should. This highly unusual and superbly stylish bar-hopper is a blast to ride and gets a lot of attention when it gets there.
