Vehicle Detail

1989 Jeep Wrangler (YJ)Black w/Tan interior, clean, rust free, 4x4, removable hard top, removable steel doors w/wing windows, fold-down windshield, roll bar, 5-speed manual transmission, A/C, AM/FM/Cassette, chrome grille and accessories. Smittybilt nerf bars all around, custom aluminum wheels, removable “Grant” steering wheel, locking storage compartments front and back. Able to run down the freeway at 70 mph, under 2200 rpm! The paint is in pretty fair shape and seems to be polishing out pretty well, though there are the usual nicks and dings, and the hard top paint is a bit faded. The interior is about the same shape as the exterior in that the front seats show some minor wear and tear, as do the door panels. The carpets are worn and stained, but depending upon your intended use for this vehicle, they could easily be salvaged. These are easily replaced, and kits are readily available elsewhere on eBay. All in all, pretty much what one would expect for a 25 year old 4x4. This Jeep has been a project of mine for too long now, and must go to make way for other projects… J The Good: Fresh 4.2 liter (258 cu. in.) short block, mated to a highly customized 4.0 liter H.O. head, all professionally built. You can read up on this interesting and highly popular performance mod on the Wrangler Forum website (here…): http://www.wranglerforum.com/f218/4-2-to-4-0-head-swap-questions-245205.html The short block was ordered bored .060 over, and optioned with a torker cam to maximize low end power.New clutch, new stainless steel exhaust header, new muffler and tailpipe, new battery, new MSD coil, new electric fuel pump, new All-Terrain 31x10.50R15LT’s, new windshield, new wipers, new U-Joints.Starts right up, purrs like a kitten, shifts exceptionally smooth in and out of all gears…The brakes have just been inspected, and all the fluids have just been changed.Clear title, currently registered in Idaho through 9/30/2015. The Bad: This vehicle runs well as is, but remains an incomplete project not well suited for the novice, unless they were looking to learn a LOT about their vehicle. For starters, my plans all along were to swap the OEM carb for the Weber (such as this one): http://www.ebay.com/itm/K551-Jeep-Weber-carb-Conversion-Kit-Weber-32-36-Elect-Choke-Carb-4-2L-258-/320982880210?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4abc120fd2&vxp=mtr I never got around to it, and as such, ended up reinstalling the original carb last week to get it running for the auction. I highly recommend the buyer consider this modification, as the shortfalls of the OEM carb are legendary, well documented within the four wheeling community… and the performance gains of this Weber over stock are significant. None of the vacuum lines and CCV/PCV fittings have been re-installed, including those running down to the Vacuum Shift mechanism on the front axle which locks it into 4-wheel drive. So, for now, it is driving around as a 2-wheel drive until these vacuum lines get replaced. Not something that would be well suited for highway use in California emissions regulated environments (In it's current configuration, sorry...).No radiator shroud currently. It does not overheat, but I would not want to be sitting in traffic on a hot summer day without one. I had planned on installing an electric fan.Though all of the A/C components have been reinstalled, they have not been hooked up.The radio works ok, but the speakers are shot. The wheels could use new center caps. That is the worst of it. All in all, my loss is your gain, as this will be a great value for the savvy Jeep enthusiast with perhaps a weekend to devote to finishing up these last few items. This vehicle is currently in the Sun Valley region of Idaho, and can be seen by appointment any time after Monday, September 29th. Delivery must be taken no later than Saturday, October 4th. Sale is “As Is”. Buyer will be given a “Release of Liability” form to complete and sign, and a “Bill of Sale”. Clear Idaho Title will be mailed to the winning bidder’s mailing address within a few days after the completion of the transaction.** Vehicle is also listed for sale locally **
